A strange innkeeper

Author’s note; this character has been requested in the discord for months. To any Australians reading…I’m sorry.

As predicted, you come into a clear area fairly early the next day. After ensuring that there’s no ambush awaiting you, Victor leads the way out across the open field. In the distance, you can make out a cluster of buildings, likely the inn that you were told about, along with a barn and a few other small things. Barely enough to be called a village, but Victor ensures you that the people there are both friendly, and willing to aid you.

It seems peaceful enough as you approach, a quiet settlement popping up around a travelers’ respite. That is impression is shattered as the door of the inn slams open, and a short, chubby man is flung out, followed by a strangely accented woman’s voice.

“Get out, ya wally! Ya knew the bloody rules when ya came here!”

A pack sails out of the door next, landing beside the man as he stands and dusts himself off. As the door closes, you hear the voice continue grumbling. “I swear, sleep with a bloke once 'n he thinks he’s fahkin' hot shit…”

Alex giggles. “I like her already!”

The man picks up his pack with a sigh, before heading up the road away from your group. Behind you, the girls are giggling, and even Victor chuckles a bit. “I did mention she has a bit of a mouth on her, right? Nice to see that Addie hasn’t changed at all.”

Shrugging, you follow him up to the door, and head inside along with everyone else. The common room appears to be empty except for a woman that you assume is Addie. Her back is to the door as she stirs a large pot over the fire. You can see that she is some kind of kangaroo girl, however, with a thick, brown furred tail and tall ears atop her head. She also appears to be quite petite, barely taller than Ferra, though with the way she threw the unfortunate former customer out, she’s no weakling. As your group enters, she sighs heavily.

“Couldn’t take the bloody hint when I tossed ya out the bloody first time? I tol' ya ta get out! Fahkin' bloody oath cobber.”

She turns around, and the exasperated look on her face vanishes immediately, replaced by a big smile.

You get a good look at Addie, and you can see why she’s so popular. She’s dressed mostly as you’d expect for an innkeeper, though the short shorts she’s wearing show off her thick, toned thighs, and the apron tied around her waist serves to highlight her breasts, which bounce with her excited little jump. She has a cute smile and grey eyes, framed by her light brown hair.

Addie grins widely. “Victor! Melora! It’s been too long, how av ya been?”

Victor chuckles. “It’s been a very interesting couple years. And now we’re on the run again. Would you mind if we hid out here for a day or two? I know we’re a bit of a crowd now.”

Addie looks over the group, and nods. Her gaze hangs on you for a moment before she turns back to Victor. “No dramas at all, as long as ya remembah the bloody rules. Now, I want ta heahr the bloody stawry behind this group ya av with ya. Especially that 'andsome fella!”

Melora grins. “Technically, it’s Nicholas’s group. Other than Victor, we’re all with him.”

Addie raises an eyebrow. “Really, 'n ya brought him here? Knowin' how I am? Does that mean you’ah ok with what I might do?”

Melora laughs. “We actually discussed it among the girls. No problems here, as long as we get him back when you’re done!”

You clear your throat. “Uh, ladies? I’m right here you know.”

To your surprise, it’s Sarah who retorts. “Oh shush, you know you love it.”

The others all laugh, including Addie, who waves you all over to a large table. Once you’re all seated, she busies herself setting out steaming bowls of stew and large mugs for everyone.

As she fills the mugs with beer, she talks. “This one’s on th’ house, then. Includin' the bloody coldie, if you’ll tell me what you’ve been up ta.”

She gives Melora a look. “Ya can start by tellin' me how you’ah eyes got fixed!”

Melora smiles. “Well, it’s really Nicholas’s story to tell.”

You nod.
