“What is the meaning of this?!” Yennefer yelled from the crowd as she approached closer to the sight of Ciri and Greta tied naked on display. “What in the world is going on here? And you better have a good explanation.”

“These whores here are thieves,” the guard said. “So they oughta be punished.”

“We’re not thieves,” Ciri said. “It was just a series of misunderstandings and a nasty old hag.”

Yennefer looked at Ciri who she saw as her daughter and grew angry as she turned to the men. “I order you to release them at once. Now!”

“Can’t do that,” the guard said. “We made an agreement with-”
