Second official Monsterball match

A week began, the next Monsterball match began and this time they were playing against House Mummy.

Cora knew it was not gonna be easy with Korzeka refereeing. This time both teams were transported to what appeared to be a castle surrounded by lava. As the began, everyone has to run across a wooden bridge to get into the castle where the balls were. Getting over the bridge itself wasn't too hard for Cora but once she reached the castle, a dragon statue inside fired a moving laser out its mouth. A member of House Mummy, a badger girl, ended up touching a laser and disappeared back to Earth.

Cora tried to reach the golden ball but lasers kept getting in the way. While this was happening, a parrot girl flew past and grabbed the golden ball with her feet.

"Good job, Arda." said the House Mummy team's captain Indigo.

Indigo was a sprite with blue skin, white hair, purple eyes and fairy wings. Cora ran after Arda, which was apparently the name of the parrot girl. The next obstacle was a pit of lava that had fireballs shooting out and a spinning fire bar blocking her.

"Oh come on!" said Cora in disbelief.

Even if she could dodge the fires themselves, there was no way she could jump that far.

"Use my power!"

"But how?" asked Cora.

"I can make you jump higher, jump further than a normal catgirl."

Cora knew she had to try. She jumped. Unfortunately, she miscalculated the pattern of the fire bar and realised she was about to go right into the flames.

"You can still do this! Do a barrel roll!"

Cora tried it. She twisted her body round, doing a rotation. Okay, this was more like an aileron roll. But the point is that it actually worked. Cora's spin put her body in a different position, allowing her to get past the fire bar and land on the other side. She continued running after Arda. She thought about how she would did the golden ball back. Maybe if that spirit possessing her allowed her to jump high enough.

Her thoughts were interrupted by a swinging spiked ball just before the first lap. Getting past the ball, Cora completed her first lap but as she had no balls she didn't get points. House Mummy was in the led with 150 points.

She caught up Arda and jumped at her.

"Impossible! Catgirls can't jump that high!" said Arda.

Cora grabbed Arda's talon.

"Gimme that ball!" she shouted.

Arda's wings had allowed her to fly above where the laser in the dragon statue's mouth was pointed. Cora was avoided the laser this time by holding onto Arda's talons. She pulled the ball from Arda's grasp and ran to the fire pit. This time, she timed it perfectly, easily avoiding the fire bar. She completed the second lap, scoring 150 for her team.

"Activate the Dragonbot." said Korzeka.

"Isn't that a little overkill?" asked Sambita.

The dragon statue came to life and fired its laser at Cora. Cora dodged the laser. Looking behind her, she could see House Mummy all coming for her. The Dragonbot eliminated several members of both House Frankenstein and House Mummy. This included Arda. However Indigo was still in the game flying just behind the Dragonbot.
