Chapter 144 by lew54321

How do you go about kissing her?

Clichés are the best

Without saying a word to her, you let out your best fake yawn that your acting skills could pull off and wrapped your arm around her shoulder.

“You really tried to be smooth with that one didn’t you?” Emma grinned, not minding your cliched attempt and snuggling herself closer towards you.

“Hey it worked didn’t it?” you replied with a smile on your face, wrapping your arm tighter around her as she got closer.

The could still feel the blush on your cheeks as Emma rested herself against you and as soon as she turned towards you and noticed, you brought your face closer to her and sealed her lips before she could tease you about it. You could tell she was surprised by your sudden attempt at romance as she tensed up at the contact but she soon relaxed into your embrace and returned the kiss just as passionately.

The two of you were alone without anyone to interrupt you and with your concentration solely on Emma, you wouldn’t have even noticed if a crowd formed around the two of you. Emma didn’t seem to have a care in the world either as the two of you continued to make out. Your mind forgot about the rest of your worries and even though you would have normally considered it a bad idea given that you were still in a public place, you wanted to go a little further.

You moved your arm out from behind Emma and rested it on her back, gently lowering her to the floor where you continued the kiss while on top of her. Emma let out no complaints and just as you were about to take another step, the bell rang.

You could have ignored people or any other sound except that but the ringing carried on as if taunting you and the noise continued despite your annoyance. You parted your lips from Emma’s and saw her give you a light smirk when she saw your expression and guessed your thoughts.

“Couldn’t we have had a few more minutes?” you whispered, lightly resting your forehead against her own as you lamented over the bad timing.

“I don’t think we would have stopped if we just had ‘a few more minutes’ “ Emma replied, giving you a final peck on the lips before tapping you back as a signal for you to get up.

The two of you straightened your clothes and made sure there were any noticeable marks from sitting on the grass before getting up and heading towards your classes. You had separate schedules the rest of the day but you were heading to the same building for the first period so that gave you plenty of time to bring up the topic you had forgotten to mention in your conversation earlier.

“Oh yeah, think you can meet me back at the trees after school before we leave? There's something I want to test” you asked, walking side by side with Emma while the two of you held hands.

“As long as it doesn’t involve me lying on the grass again when we could be in my room, then sure I can” Emma teased.

“As much as that sounds like a good idea, it's something ‘app’ related that I wanna resolve sooner rather than later. It’s nothing serious but like with the other stuff, I’ll explain it later but it's not gonna be as interesting as everything else” you answered, censoring yourself as you got closer to the buildings and people were within hearing distance.

Emma nodded and gave you a quick squeeze of her hand in confirmation as the two of you made it inside. You had to part with her pretty soon afterwards as she headed off to her own class and you did the same. Given that you weren’t behind schedule for once, you had the opportunity to take your time in the corridor and managed to take in your surroundings for a change. Between the rush of students trying to go every different direction, you managed to get your bearings and make your way towards the correct class.

In your rush this morning, you had failed to notice the growing number of posters and flyers that littered the halls telling you about the upcoming prom.

It was still a couple of weeks away and shortly before graduation but the fact that the school had started advertising it showed that the event was closer than you thought. If it wasn’t for you confessing to Emma, you would have ignored it entirely and probably hung out at home feeling sorry for yourself but now that you were officially dating, you actually might need to prepare for it instead.

The excitement for the event was mainly for the people a lot more popular than you but if you had Emma by your side you were sure you would be able to get at least a little bit of fun out of the occasion.

By the time you were done imagining the scenario, you had made it to your class but the line of students queuing up at the door showed that your teacher still hadn’t turned up. The corridor was already cramped enough as is but with everyone crowding around the door, you decided to keep your distance and wait where it was a little quieter. You wanted to go back to some event planning in your head when you saw a glimpse of your sister as she rushed down the hall. She was joking with her friends and had a massive smile on her face as she passed, not having the time to notice you before she carried on with her day. You didn’t plan on getting her attention given how rushed she looked but it did make you think about her own plans for prom.

Sarah hadn’t mentioned it to you for whatever reason and although you were only just thinking about it now, you were curious to know if she had anything in mind for the event. The thought of her having a date was something you tried to dismiss but the thought had already embedded into your mind and the only way of getting rid of it would be to try and bring up the topic with her yourself.

You were starting to get a little anxious about the topic but before you could do anything irrational like chase after your sister for an answer right away, the teacher you had all been waiting for had finally turned up and without a word of an apology, started ushering you all into the room before they could hear any more complaints. You had to rush back into the line to not get accused of being late but you went to your usual desk towards the back and started reading over the class material before any more annoying thoughts started distracting you again.

Again, the subject seemed to have gotten easier ever since you had taken your upgrade and the thought of getting another to make your life a bit easier was becoming more tempting. It felt like you hadn’t had much time to yourself recently and although you saw that as a huge positive given the thing you were usually doing when you were with one of your subjects but having a little extra time to study the KDK and its uses or just study in general was something you needed to work back into your schedule.

With thoughts like that passing through your head, you pondered what to do while trying to look like you were paying attention to the next few hours of lessons.

Do you manage to organise your thoughts?
