Chapter 19 by AnQnomous AnQnomous

Dun Dah-Dun?!

Ba-Dum-Tism~

After the echoes of a life not entirely my own silence themselves, Logic continues. "I'm not sure how time lines up between this 'Ruyanei' and Earth, or exactly how long ago this Tomoko was brought here, but there might be a chance. She might be... Her."

The dark room's four walls fall back, it's ceiling ceasing to be. Logic and I are now on some sort of street, outside of a building covered in bright colorful lights in the shape of mugs and dancing ladies.

He turns to me, saying. "We'll need to get Urge in on this. If you're going to fix us, you'll need both of the keys."

"Keys?" I ask, trying my best to not stare at the dancing lights.

Logic explains by saying. "I hold the key to your thought processes, and Urge holds the key to your emotions. Its why you need me to think, and why you haven't really felt much other than... 'Broken.'."

"Why does he... make me feel... broken?" I ask, seeing Logic shake about; his 'Us' body, regaining the fine suit from his time at the piano; his form going without the deformities.

We walk into the building as Logic replies. "Because... that's how he feels."

Entering, music of some sort is blaring, combining with flashing lights and the smell of vomit to leave me feeling queasy. There are only two people in the building, a faceless serving drinks of some kind, and another Us sitting at a bar; this one is wearing messy, flashy white clothes; its missing sleeve on the right forearm indicating that this was post crash. However, the Us lacks any deformities, and still has that hand.

"Hit me up with another brandy!" The voice of Urge says from the Us's mouth, finishing off whatever it is he was drinking... oh, probably brandy.

"Urge." Logic says, taking a seat next to him.

"Oh, Hey Logic! Hey Ego! Or is it Monster? *Hic* Welp, doesn't matter. Your plan is going to kill us anyway."

"Ah, so you... heard." Says Logic, turning to the faceless barman "One martini please, you know how I like them."

"What... Is this... place?" I ask, covering my ears to keep out the 'music'.

"*Hic* the saddest little spaceship in the universe."

"Urge's paradise, a bar with never-ending booze and morphine."

"Oxeycodone, my truest *Hic* love."

"Ugh... We need the key, Urge. Chop chop."

He turns to Logic, seemingly having become sober instantly. "No."

"Why not?!"

"I don't want to die again, is that a good enough answer, Logic?!"

The bar is silent, save the drag of a martini glass being placed next to Logic.

Urge continues he raving, quieter now, but still clearly angry. "I can't trust that thing to get us where we need to go. Hell, it let Madness in free of charge once already! Not to mention, if it is Her, how do we prove we're us? Our face is different, our voice, our body, even our di-"

"Ok, ok I get it! We'll talk to Ariel when he get's back, he was with Tomoko for nearly the entirety of her time here it sounds like, we'll ask him what she talked about in her old life."

"You heard those baddie goddesses, she hates her past, and wouldn't have talked about it."

"Further evidence it's her, or do you not remember what the argument was about that night?"

Silence once more.

Far longer silence.

"I'll always remember that night, Logic."

"I... I'm sorry, that was too far."

"No, it's deserved. It was me who got her killed, remember? With that emotional outburst."

"Nonsense! It was my fault for not keeping our eyes on the road!"

I was sick of the bickering, it was mixing with the noise, lights, and smell to make me infuriated. "Could you two... hurry up? This place... is awful..."

Logic blinks, then adjusts his suit. "Yes, we're probably drooling on the floor right now.

Urge sighs, and as he takes the martini from next to Logic, he says " Fine, the key is yours. But only if you get at least a buzz, Monster. It's been way too long since we've had a drink, and it's killing me. Aw man, could use a smoke too... and if theres a brothel in Saltmoore..."

"How about just the drink and smoke, I don't think anyone will want to, uh... copulate... with us."

"Nerd!"

I blink my eyes, and suddenly, we're back at that hilltop; although She is missing. Logic stands to my left, and Urge to my right.

"This maaay or may not tickle. Or hurt. Or tickle AND hurt."

"According to Ego, it felt like a lobotomy back when we did this on earth."

"Eh, fuck it."

Before I can question what is happening, the others break apart into a flutter colorful leaves, mixing together into a single form... Her... no longer fading, but still faceless.

An all too familiar voice calls to me. "Come on, silly. Just have a seat! I won't bite... much."

I sit by her, and I notice the sun begin to fall behind the horizon. She holds my arm, laying her head on my shoulder.

"So... should I move in or not?"

My mouth moves on its own. "Of course, you're welcome whenever."

I can't see it, but I know she smiles.

We watch the sunset in autumn, knowing that everything will be ok...

Wake up, it's snowing!
