Traitor!

"There you are, catch!" The vampire throws something towards Eric. The one who conspires with the enemy is the fucking Alpha! What are you supposed to do?

"Has it been decided?"

"Friday night, 4 days from now, you are to attack north and kill anyone who stands in your way. Mistress will offer you protection and territory in exchange for obedience!"

"And what about my pack member? The humans have her, and it almost causes a riot. I need her back; her mate will be good cannon fodder once I'll implicate the other party."

"She will be returned alive after they are done. Promise him her return after the war, and he should fight the same. You will keep your promise and gain a strong, loyal pet for the rest of your life."

"Friday, as soon as the sun goes down! We will be there!" And with that, Eric takes his leave.

The vampire remains a few minutes in place and then leaves. "I can't stand this smell; dumb dogs should just be obedient. Mistress is so cruel to make me give them a bone..." You hear him leaving, but you stay motionless in the bushes. At least it seems that Jenny is still alive.

"This is crazy! How am I supposed to save Jenny like this? Do I need to be a plaything for the damn vampires to save her?" you mumble.

You return home; there is no point in asking for help from this damn pack now. You isolate yourself from everyone since now you don't know who to trust.

Thursday afternoon, Eric called a meeting in which he explains that Jenny was betrayed by the Alpha up north and that he sold information to the humans, and now we need to stop him.

You looked genuinely surprised when he said that, because you didn't expect him to go with the vampire's plan. You were so angry when he promised to save her, but he misunderstood your emotions as being directed towards the other party and kept a smile on his face the entire meeting.

"Go home and prepare for war! Nobody messes with our pack! We are family!" He yells at the end of the meeting.

You can hear yells from the crowd, and many even come to guarantee that they will fight to the **** to save Jenny. Your eyes start to water at the realisation that these people are nothing but pawns, to be sacrificed in a game played by those in charge.

You take a seat on the same bench where you stayed with Jenny on the day of your first transformation, and you think about what's about to happen ...

Do I let them sacrifice to have Jenny back, or do I save them and risk losing Jenny? While waiting for a sign on what decision to take, Nicole comes and sits next to you.

"What are you thinking so hard about?"

You look at her and see her beautiful eyes, and you remember the first time you met her. " Now I think about the first time I saw you. Or better said, smelled you."

She is clearly embarrassed. "Don't remind me about that! I had to apologise to Jenny numerous times before she forgave me!"

You smile. "Jenny always talked about you. How she knew she could count on you any time she had a problem..."

"Of course! And this time is no different! Don't worry, we will save her."

"Yeah..."

Mark drives the car and stops it in front of us. "Honey, we need to go if you still want to have dinner with your parents."

"Right! Almost forgot!" Nicole gets up and walks towards the car.

"Don't worry, Max! We'll bring her home!" Mark encourages you. The guy who jumps every time he sees you would do that?

"Do you even understand how we'll do that?" you ask, pained.

"Don't worry! I know how to fight! I might have lost against you, but that doesn't mean I can't protect your back from others," he says, bumping his chest. "Nothing will sneak behind you, isn't that right, honey?" he says as he turns towards Nicole.

This would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

"Don't worry, Max! Trust us!" Nicole says.

"See you, Friday night!"

"Bye!" And off they go.
