Across the Sea: Part Five

A FEW MINUTES LATER:

John is beside Kyuala, helping her rewrap her injured ribs.

"You were told to be careful with the bandages."

"It's not my fault these damn things can't hold my amazing muscles" Kyuala responds as she flexes her bicep which she holds for a second before seething in pain.

"How are those amazing muscles feeling then?"
Kyuala looks at John who has a smug smile on his face.

Kyuala then grabs the back of his head and pulls him close to her, "They'd feel better if my beloved husband were to kiss them."

John's smug smile turns into a smirk as he says, "Well, I should definitely start helping with the healing process then."

The two chuckle before exchanging a kiss. John then kisses her neck before slowly bringing up her arm to kiss her bicep. Kyuala's spine is tingling, and the pleasant feeling of John's lips is helping to mask the pain her entire body is currently in.

The kisses continue for a few more moments, but unfortunately they are interrupted as someone knocks on the door. Kyuala sighs in frustration as John moves off of the bed and heads to the door to open it up.

As John opens the door, he sees one of Auro's crew standing there, "What's going on?"

"The captain is asking for you to meet him down in the brig, both of you."

"Why?" Kyuala asks.

"The crew on the other ship, they found one of the pirates hiding below deck. They brought her over, and the captain put her in the brig. That's when he asked for you two to come down."

John then slightly turns his head as he hears Kyuala grumbling away, he then looks back to the crewman, "We'll be there in a minute."

The crewman nods before walking away from the door.

John then grabs his sword which rests in his scabbard while saying, "Guess we'll have to put a stop to our fun for now."

As John attaches the scabbard to his belt, he hears a few steps before feeling a large hand gently grab the back of his neck.

"Oh, we will definitely continue our fun later... and you will be doing more even more" Kyuala whispers into his ear as she leans in to softly kiss his neck. John smirks as he feels her voice gently tingle in his head while her lips grace his neck.

Kyuala lets out a low chuckle as the two then head out of the door.

THE BRIG:

Kyuala and John walk down the steps, and immediately see Auro leaning on a table. The captain hears the footsteps of the duo, so he turns around, "Ahh good, you're both here. Did Frol tell you why I asked you here?"

"Something about a pirate that was hidden on the other ship" John responds.

"Yes. My men found this... delightful woman hidden in their treasury. My men said she was trying to take some of the loot for herself, but they caught her before she got away."

Just then, they hear some incoherent shouting and chains rattling in what appears to be a closed cell.

"As I said, delightful" Auro said as he looks back to the two, "Anyway, I asked you both here because she asked to see the one who killed Kjyorn" The duo look at Auro confused, "Uhh, the minotaur. That was his name, according to her anyway."

"Why us?" Kyuala asks.

"Damned if I know. I declined at first, but after she bit off one of my men's fingers, I felt like I should honour her request."

"She's dangerous then" John comments.

"Yes. I would recommend not trying to pet her during your... conversation."

Kyuala and John nod, taking Auro's advice before they head to the cell door. Kyuala then goes to grab the handle, but that's when Auro says, "I'll stay here, just in case."

"Don't worry, she won't be escaping any time soon."

"I think it's more in case you get rowdy" John says in response to Kyuala.

"Oh, if Kyuala goes off the rails, you're on your own John."

The trio let out a chuckle before Kyuala grabs the handle, and the duo walk inside.

INSIDE THE CELL:

The door closes behind Kyuala and John, and as they turn to their right, they see the chained up pirate.

The pirate is a female wolf-folk. Her fur is dark brown with a few hints of lighter brown amongst it. Her fur is also matted in some places, but John wasn't exactly expecting a pirate to be perfectly groomed. The last thing he notices are her eyes which glow a bright auburn, and if you were to look long enough, you would almost get lost in them.

The pirate then begins sniffing at the two before saying, "Oh, it's definitely you."

The wolf then looks at Kyuala, "You were the one to finish Kjyorn, weren't you?"

"That I was. Why do you want to know?"

The pirate goes silent, but after a few moments, the duo begin to hear... laughing.

They look at the pirate, seeing her body shake as laughter escapes from her mouth. She then looks at the two before saying, "Thank you! Holy fuck that guy was an asshole! I mean, he barely bathed, tossed his scraps around like it was his ship. There was one time when we took some prisoner, real feminine looking guy, hell, if you were drunk, you wouldn't know the difference. Unfortunately for the guy, Kjyorn got really drunk, and let's just say... the whole sea probably heard that poor guy get a new hole."

"Wait... so, you're glad we killed him?" John asks.

"Did you not hear what I just said? But if you need some clarification, yes, I'm fucking glad he's dead. He was always a dick. Plus, there was this one time when he walked past me when I was sitting down, and the smell from his-"

"Enough. We don't need to hear the details" Kyuala says, promptly putting a stop to the pirates words. Kyuala then follows up, "So, why did you want to talk to us? If it was just to confirm we killed him, then we're done here."

"Actually... I want to make a deal."

Kyuala and John look at each other for a second, already knowing that this isn't going to go well.

"What do you have to offer?" John asks.

The pirate chuckles, "I can give you the location of the rest of the pirates who roam these coves."

"And in exchange?" Kyuala asks hesitantly.

The wolf then looks at John, "I want him."

"No deal" Kyuala says with intense venom spewing from every letter. The two then walk to the door, but the wolf woman speaks again, "You misunderstand. I don't want him as a slave or nothing. I just want to bed him for a night. After all, I love taking over the musk of a claimed one."

Kyuala's face turns into a mask of pure anger. The audacity of the pirate causing a whirlwind of fury within her. Kyuala then reacts as John quickly predicted, and rocks the wolf pirates jaw with a quick right, promptly knocking the pirate out cold.

John looks at Kyuala before saying, "Didn't need a Seer to see that coming."

"How dare she?! She just thought she could ask for something like that?! From my beloved no less! She deserves another!"

Kyuala steps forward, but John grabs her, "She's already going to wake up with less teeth, you don't need to do any more damage, okay?"

Kyuala grumbles, not giving a clear response, but eventually backs down... for now, at least. The duo then walk out of the door where they see Auro who sits with a raised eyebrow, "I heard a thud, so I assume our captive is no longer with us?"

"I can report that she is still amongst the living."

Kyuala grumbles, "Unfortunately..."

"But, I assume she isn't currently... awake" Auro asks.

"I knocked the bitch out" Kyuala bluntly responds.

"Oh... okay."

John then picks up from there, "At first, she apparently wanted to thank Kyuala for killing the minotaur."

"She... wanted to thank you? For killing a fellow pirate?"

"Apparently this Kjyorn's evilness was only matched by his horrible smell. She went into just enough detail to ruin any hunger for cheese in the next week" John explains.

"Then, the little bitch decided to be funny" Kyuala says with gritted teeth. This causes Auro to look at John who explains, "After the weird thanks, she wanted to make a deal. The deal was, she would give us the location of the other bands who roam the nearby coves, and in return... I'd have to sleep with her."

Auro is shocked, "She wanted to sleep with you? Why?"

"Fuck if I know, something about the scent of a claimed one."

"And that's when Kyuala decided to embed her jaw into the wall?" Auro asks.

"Yes" Kyuala responds.

Auro takes a breath, sighing just after he does, "Well, I can't blame you, it's an absolutely outrageous ask..." There's a look on Auro's face which suggests he isn't quite done yet, and John is proven right as he hears, "But... having the location of the pirates would be immensely useful."

"NO! I will not allow it!" Kyuala says, actually scaring Auro.

"Of course not! I was just thinking out loud. Please don't take my head off, I quite like it where it is."

John chuckles, "She won't hurt you Auro, I promise. And in any case, even if I did sleep with her-" Kyuala growls at those words, "Which I won't. We don't know if she actually knows where the other pirates are anyway. It's possible she could just be doing this to stir some trouble amongst us, and get some enjoyment out of it as she does."

"That's it! That is exactly it! She has no idea where the others are, so we aren't doing it!" Kyuala says triumphantly.

"I suppose you're right" Auro concedes.

Just then, the trio hear footsteps coming down the stairs, and that's when they see Terra and Amilia.

"What's all the commotion? We heard shouting" Terra asks.

Amilia then looks at Kyuala who is trying to hide her frustration, albeit very poorly, "Uh oh, judging by that wrinkle on Ky's forehead, the pirate said something about John."

Auro is impressed, "Gotta hand it to her, she's quick."

"To answer your question, yes, that's exactly what happened" John answers, "She supposedly wants to make a deal. She gives us the locations of the other pirates, but I have to sleep with her in return."

Terra is shocked, however Amilia simply bursts out laughing. Kyuala looks to her friend, "Well, I'm glad you can find the humour in the situation."

Amilia laughs for a few more seconds before eventually calming down, "Sorry, it's just... it's something I could see myself totally doing to throw you off."

"And you think that's what she was doing?" Auro asks.

"Oh definitely. Listen, John is an attractive guy, but if people know that he is Kyuala's man, there isn't a sane person who would try get him away from her. My thinking is that she's trying to stall for something... it's what I'd do at least."

"That makes sense. It's quite possible that some of the other crews had people watching the fight. They may already have other ships currently on their way" John says.

"Unlikely" Auro says, "We're currently in open water until we get to the shoreline of Muprosyll. There isn't any real advantage for them to attack out in the open, and since we're two ships strong, it wouldn't be easy for them."

"What about an attack on the shore? If they were to have forces set up on the shoreline with some ballistas? I know we have the sprites shield, but if they were to board us for long enough, more ships could come from behind, and we'd be screwed."

Auro is intrigued with Kyuala's scenario, "I'll admit, it's possible, but Muprosyll is very strict on pirates, so if any official ships were to be nearby, we'd immediately have back up since my ship is well-known by most of the captains of the fleet."

"So, we're essentially just waiting to see what we can do?" Amilia asks.

"Aye lass" Auro responds.

Terra is noticeably quiet, like she's in deep thought. John sees this, and that's when he asks, "Terra, what's up?"

Terra snaps out of her pondering, "I believe I have an idea."

The group then look at Terra who begins to speak, "If her plan involved actually sleeping with John, it's possible she may have some proficiency in sexual magic. If she is, it's very likely that she wishes to use the Enamour spell."

"And what's that?" Amilia asks.

"It is a spell that can only be used during intercourse. When the victim of the mage finishes, the spell entraps them in an intense state of enamourment, essentially enslaving them to do whatever the mage tells them."

The group are stunned, silence filling the room as they all don't quite know what to say. Eventually, John speaks up, "So... It appears we've got two possible scenarios. The first being that she's trying to stall us so that pirates can come and save her. The second is that she's trying to use sex magic and potentially control me."

"Or maybe both" Auro finishes.

Silence sets in once again, with the two scenarios not being much better than the other.

John then thinks about the sexual magic aspect, remembering his encounter with Hylaega. He then starts to laugh to himself which quickly catches the attention of the others.

"You wish to share the joke with the rest of the class?" Auro jokingly asks.

John laughs for a little longer before saying, "We don't have to worry about any sex magic."

"Of course we don't, because it's not happening" Kyuala quickly responds.

"Well, obviously" John says, "But, that's not the only reason I would be safe."

The group look at him confused, that's when John looks at Auro, "Captain, do you swear to keep what you are about to hear a secret?"

Auro is a little stunned, but soon after John asks, he puts his fist over his heart, "I swear on my life, honour, ship and crew."

John then nods toward the captain, "Okay, well, when I talked to the angels-"

"You can speak with the angels?" Auro asks shocked.

"Yeah, some times. Anyway, when I spoke to them to ask about Lani, Hylaega gave me a mark."

"Another one?! You have three now? This is amazing!" Terra exclaims.

"Hold on, you have three marks?" Auro interjects.

John sighs, "Yes, I have three marks. Now, I will answer any questions after I am done explaining, alright?"

Terra and Auro nod, allowing John to continue, "So, since Hylaega is the Angel of Sex, her mark actually nullifies any sexual magic used against me. And it also lets me know of any attempts to use sex magic against me when I sleep with someone I don't know."

The group are once again stunned, all looking amongst each other to seemingly confirm what they just heard. There's a moment where they don't know exactly what to say, but Amilia just blurts out, "So, you can safely fuck the pirate?"

"W-well, yes, technically... if I fucked the pirate, I would probably be fine."

Kyuala growls, anger building within her again. John immediately hears this and says, "I'm not going to. You know I'd never do something like that without your approval first."

Kyuala's growls continue, but they've died down just a little. Terra then says the line everyone's uncomfortable to say, "Well... if the mark works as intended, we could confirm or disprove one of our current theories right now."

Kyuala's growl persists as her face is wrought in thought.

Auro then says, "If I may add my thoughts, I think it would be beneficial. If John's mark cancels out any attempt of this Enamour spell, then you could potentially interrogate her during the... y'know... as well."

Kyuala's growl suddenly stops as Auro finishes his point. The others seemingly notice this, and as they look over at Kyuala, she makes a move. Her large hand grabs the back of Johns shirt, causing John to react, "Kyuala? What are you doing?"

Kyuala doesn't respond, instead, she just starts dragging him toward the cell, "Kyuala?! We can talk about this!" John pleads, fear in his voice as the others simply watch on in confusion.

Kyuala then opens the door before pushing John inside, before she walks in however, she looks at the trio, "Captain, make sure none of your crew come down here. Ami, Terra, stand guard."

Kyuala then walks inside before slamming the door shut.

The trio are surprised, but Auro is the first to speak, "Uhh, should I be concerned about my ship?"

"After what Ky plans to do, I don't think there'll be much ship left" Amilia responds with a chuckle.

Auro is obviously concerned about Amilia's words, and Terra sees this, "Auro. I will personally make sure that no real damage occurs to the ship. However, in the short time I have known Miss Kyuala, I have learned that when she asks you to do something, it's probably best if you do it."

Auro snaps out of his worry, "Uhh right, okay" He then gets to the stairs before saying, "Just let me know if we need to abandon ship. I will make sure none of my men disturbs... them."

Auro then walks up the stairs, and is heard faintly giving orders to some nearby crewmen.

Amilia and Terra stay by the cell, and Amilia quickly heads over before seemingly looking for something.

"What are you doing?" Terra asks.

"I'm looking for a hole. I want to see the action!" Amilia replies, chuckling to herself as she continues.

Terra then sighs, slightly shaking her head before grabbing her staff and saying a few words before planting the staff onto the wood. A clear ball of energy expands, filling the room, but just stops at the doorway. Amilia sees the surrounding magic, "What did you do?"

"I figured they may be a little... loud, so I casted a silencing ward. No one shall be able to hear anything unless they are in this room."

Amilia laughs, "I knew it, you're a perv too, all the fair maidens are."

Terra doesn't respond, instead, she turns away as she slightly blushes. Amilia however, just laughs a little more.

INSIDE THE CELL:

Kyuala and John stand inside the cell. Kyuala standing tall as John is slightly backed up against the wall.

"You want to tell me what all that was about?" John asks.

Kyuala doesn't respond, instead, she just slaps the pirate, and the pirate stirs soon after.

The chains slightly rattle as she wakes, "Owwww. I can't tell if my jaw is broken, or if the rest of my body is."

"Shut up" Kyuala bluntly responds.

The pirate then looks up, "Oh great, it's you" The wolf then looks over at John, "And the handsome one. This isn't too bad then."

Kyuala then slightly bends down before grabbing the pirates jaw, "You really think he is handsome?"

The pirate is confused, and so she doesn't answer immediately. Kyuala then tightens her grip, causing the pirate to groan in pain before blurting out, "Yes! Yes! He's a handsome guy! For a race I've never seen before."

Kyuala lets go, "Good... because he's going to fuck you."

The pirate and John are shocked and in unison, they say, "What?!"

"As I said, John is going to fuck you, and you... are going to hold up your end of the bargain."

The pirate is stunned, unsure of what to say. John on the other hand, pulls Kyuala to the side and whispers, "What the hell, Kyuala?! What are you doing?!"

"I am doing what we discussed. If we can prove that she is a sex mage, or if she is stalling until rescue comes, we can prepare appropriately."

John is a little taken aback, "I thought you didn't want me to do this?"

"I didn't at first, obviously. But Auro made an excellent point. If she is or isn't a sex mage, we can interrogate her. She would be in a very exposed state, and if we play our cards right, we could trade pleasure for information."

John is still taken aback, but it quickly turns into an impressed expression as he says, "You always have a plan, don't you?"

The pirate does as instructed, albeit a little hesitantly.

Kyuala notes this, "If you don't follow my instructions quicker than that, you won't get your reward, understood?"

The wolf woman nods, now standing on her feet.
"Good, now, time to see what my beloved will be using."
