"Abra, use confusion!" The attack hits your Turtwig hard.

"Turtwig! Vine whip!" Turtwig tried to obey, but in his confusion there is little he can do, his vines slam all around the arena hitting well below the floating Abra, before he slaps himself with them. "Come on Turtwig!" You call, "You can do it!" Your desperation leaks out into your voice a little. Making it obvious to the two young men how much you want to win. But Jared is merciless.

"Abra one more time!" Another strong pulse of concussive energy slams into Turtwig, and he faints. Your heart sinks as you return him to his Poke Ball and call forth your last Pokemon.

"Go Starly!" Starly bursts forth and you have him start of strong, "Starly use Wing Attack!"

"Abra, Teleport and Hidden Power!" His Abra easily evades your attack and a Dark type blast of energy bursts forth into Starly. Before you an even react he continues. "Finish it once more with Confusion!" For a third time the concussive blast hits one of your Pokemon and Starly quickly faints. You knew this was where this battle was headed, but you had hoped for a miracle. Not even being able to land a hit left you feeling weak and pathetic. You swallow your pride and walk over to Jared.

"You ready for your payment?" Jared asks with that cocky smile still plastered on his face.
