Partner Spirit

Disclaimer: This story is a work of fiction do not confuse it with reality. Some fucked up shit might happen in this story that does not mean I am encouraging or even condoning abusive behavior even if "deserved" (which in reality is never).

Author's Note: This story is loosely inspired by "His Dark Materials". The inspiration is not enough to warrant reading the novels (or watching TV series) and it doesn't help people who have read or watched it. Partner Spirits are somewhat like Daemon but still different. This chapter is mainly just explanation of this fictional world so if you want just skip it but if you do, don't write a comment saying you don't understand this world.

My name is Sam (short for Samael). If you are wondering why I have the same name as the devil it is because my parents wrote some "angelic" names on chits of paper, put them in a jar, and drew one. Pretty stupid idea if you ask me. Oh! If you are wondering about my younger sister's name it's Az(short for Azazel). People also call her Ass so at least "Sam" is not that bad.

If for some reason you don't know what a partner spirit is let me tell you. When a human comes of age a tattoo appears on their body usually arm and a spirit comes out of that tattoo usually of the opposite sex that spirit is a manifestation of your inner personality. Spirits have magical powers and teach their master/mistress to use their powers. They also live inside that tattoo.

You may ask what is the use of these powers. If you do ask, let me ask you a question, "What is wrong with you? Don't you think magic is cool?". Well, there is one other reason... that is to control Beasts. Beasts are the monsters that live in wild forests. They look like humans if humans had long hair everywhere on their body, long teeth, and long nails. Humans with strong spirit powers protect the cities from beasts. Some also tame and sell beasts, although fucking a beast is taboo it is not a crime like having sex with any spirit. Fucking a spirit is the biggest crime you could commit. But why would you? The punishment for fucking a spirit is both you and your spirit being paraded around town nude while your hands are cuffed(you cant even hide anything) and then tossed into the wild forest. Beasts will probably **** you and your spirit. A punishment like that is probably why no one has committed that crime in over a century. The only time when people committed that crime was when a bunch of psychos were spreading the rumor that fucking your spirit boosts your power that was when the law was passed. No one was gross enough to do it before the rumor but after the law, no one is brave enough to try it.

I am 19 years old. In fact, Yesterday was my birthday but my spirit hasn't manifested yet which is extremely weird because as far as I know other than me everyone has their partner spirit manifest within one week of their 18th birthday. Because my spirit hasn't manifested I am basically a pariah and have suffered a lot. My story really starts on my 18th birthday though so I should probably start from there.
