Who are the main characters?
Sean and Brandy [Chapter 1]
Sean had been Brandy's friend since they were small. They grew up next door to each other and became not only friends, but best friends. They enjoyed all the same video games, movies, books, board games, and even the same flavor of dental floss.
As time marched on Sean had developed more than a crush on Brandy. He was madly in love with her. A fact Brandy was well aware of since he confessed his feelings to her about a year ago.
Brandy, for her part, genuinely liked Sean as a friend. He was kind, always trustworthy, and never had a problem listening to her complain about things. When he came to her and confessed his love, she was taken aback. To her, it was like her brother had just admitted romantic feelings.
At the time, she let him down as gently as she could, but he still took it hard. For a few weeks after Brandy rejected him, Sean just hid in his room and stewed about things, hoping the time apart from her was able to heal some of his wounds. He lost himself into his writing, his sadness, and generally doing his best to be alone.
When he emerged after his isolation, he'd decided he wouldn't let one rejection keep him down, and he also decided he could still be a good friend. He'd apologized about his tantrum and vowed he would never mention it again, despite his deep love for her still living in his heart.
All was good in the world again. Brandy had her friend back, and Sean had a new, realistic, outlook on the world. Life was going just great for everyone and things had seemingly gone back to normal...until fate stepped in with other ideas.
How does Sean get his powers?
