When the ring phased into your body, it gave you an odd sort of memories.

Well, memories aren't exactly the right word for what the ring gave you. Instincts maybe? Instructions?

Whatever you want to call it, you know you can control the minds of others. You're just not sure how. Is it like Jedi mind tricks? Hypnosis? Suggestion? Control their bodies but not their minds?

You wish you had some more exact knowledge about these powers, but since you don't, you're going to have to experiment a little. And you're going to have to do so where you're comfortable, and time it so that no one witnesses your experiments.
