Give Her Something New to Watch

As Dave brought in his groceries he began to piece together a plan for the rest of the day. "I'm sure I can find something about DPCs on the internet... I'll just tell her to watch TV and then I'll have this all figured out in 30 minutes tops..." Dave thought as he closed his refrigerator door. With everything put away Dave briefly glanced over at the bottles of water he had lined up for Barbara. "I hope she likes her treat." Dave thought as he cracked a bit of a smile.

"All done." Dave said as he walked back out into the living room to see Barbara still transfixed on the TV. "Pause that for me."

Barbara paused the show and looked over to Dave. "What should I do now master?" Barbara asked.

The question took Dave by surprise. "Master?" Dave said shaking his head.

"Well you never told me your name..." Barbara looked like a puppy who had just been yelled at. "So I thought you might like Master..."

"O..." Dave felt a twinge of sympathy for her. "I'm sorry. My name is Dave. You can call me Dave."

"I will Dave." Barbara said with a big smile.

"Okay so now that we've been introduced this is what I was thinking we would do for the next couple of hours." Dave grabbed the sweatshirt and sweatpants he had bought from the counter. "I got these for you."

Barbara's eyes went wide. "You got me presents!"

"Yeah..." Dave was surprised that she was so excited about $5 sweats. "Anyways I'm gonna start my laundry and I will put these in there for you. Then I'm gonna sit down at my computer and try to figure out where you came from and what you are."

"What do you want me to do?" Barbara asked.

"You can hang out and watch TV." Dave walked over and picked up the remote. "If you are getting tired of Community we can put something else on for you." Dave clicked the home button to go back to his list of streaming apps. "What do you want to watch?" Dave cycled through the different streaming services he was subscribed to. Each click brought up a new service and a little preview of a show.

"Um I don't know..." Barbara said hesitantly. "I was learning a lot from Community!" Barbara's comment caused Dave to look back at Barbara. Barbara smiled at Dave. "Do you want to see what I learned?" Dave nodded yes. "Cool! Cool! Cool Cool Cool!"

Dave put his hands up. "Okay. That's enough of that." Dave cringed at the thought of her continuing to emulate Abed. "Let's pick something more educational..." Dave kept scrolling until he saw a preview for a cooking show. "Interesting..." Dave thought as he clicked on the service and began scrolling through the shows. "Perfect!" Dave said as he started an episode of Giada at Home. "Now you learn from my favorite cook while I do a little research on you." Dave said as he handed the remote back to Barbara.

"Thank you Dave!" Barbara smiled and turned back to see Giada De Laurentiis on the screen.
