Vegas

Relaxation in the sun sounds good, but more than anything you want to meet a demon. You turn toward Vegas and push the accelerator down.

You pull in around nine. You park in one of the casinos. You figure a little gambling before finding a room couldn’t hurt.

You enter the casino Red. It used to be one of large casinos on the strip, but it’s been renovated to a demon theme.

You walk out on the floor to dinging and beeping that sounds like an archaic video game.

You make your way toward the craps tables. The attendant is an attractive blond in a tight dress with a pair of fake plastic horns.

After a short wait you get to toss the dice. You feel like Lady Luck owes you. You roll a seven. You keep betting and keep getting lucky. Soon the pile of chips next to you is a small mountain and has chips of colors you’ve never seen before.

You make several, large, unwise bets on long shots and win all of them.

A pit boss approaches you.

“Miss, we’d like to comp you a room. If you’d like we can also get you into a high stakes room.”

“Um, thank you. I just drove a long way and I’m a bit tired. The room sounds lovely though.” You take your chips and realize you have won nearly six figures. You leave a five hundred dollar tip and follow the pit boss to the check in.

The pit boss gives you a smile and hands you the key and a plastic card.

“The key gets you into your room, the card gets you into high stakes if you change your mind.”

You make your way up to your room. You open the door and are impressed. The room is opulent. Though you could do without the rather graphic painting of demons having sex.

You chuck your duffel down, change into a nightgown and fall asleep.
