Saved again

Nothing happened. Well, nothing happened to you, since from the demons reaction you could guess he got some sort of apoplexy. The flames that were directed at point blank range on your face, instead of scorching you completely, dispersed, never even coming close to harming you. You ended the life of this demon within the next few seconds and stood up. You felt nothing but relief, taking someone's life like that came as easy to you as another breath. You couldn't shake off the feeling like someone was watching you and condemning your deeds. You considered briefly to question your own actions, but you knew you had bigger things to worry about in that moment.

Carmen was standing next to four corpses in the similar pose like before the fight, only her hair were in a bit of disarray.

"I believe a proper reaction to what I've just witnessed would be what the fuck." She said.

"Void magic." You explained briefly.

"I suppose that does explain a lot. I have to commend you, for a human with little to no training you did admirably."

"Thanks... But it's you who should be commended. You were incredible, taking four opponents at once." You admitted while managing to finally catch your breath.

"Outstanding aptitude in combat is not difficult once you understand the physics behind it and apply it when needed. But thank you. It's good.... To be noticed."

An awkward pause hanged between you for a few moments, only the shouting and more bells could be heard from afar. You decided to break the silence.

"So where to now?"

"Come again? Oh, that is a valid question. Given that alarm was called, we have a few minutes, maybe more before guards will organise themselves and come here. And when we will be swarmed by them, our chances of survival are going to drop from unlikely to impossible."

She was right. You had to do something, or your already botched escape would be ruined.
