How I learned about No Nut November part 7

Back home, I decided to take Bruno for a walk before anything else.
Joe had given me his number before I left, so we were now chatting anytime he got a chance to. I was chatting on my walk with Bruno, and I was still checking for his messages after I got back home. I told him about Bruno and my current living situation, that being me living alone with my grandparents' dog, looking for a job, and he told me about his. He lived still with his father on one property, if I understood him correctly, but in two different buildings.
The whole Sunday was stretching its minutes like gum into hours. I wrote some more scenes for a script I've been working on, and texted Sasha about Joe. She was eager to know everything, so I told her about how I got to know him and a slightly less lewd version of my dream. I couldn't wait to go to sleep in the evening. I haven't been this nervous and excited in years, and I somewhat doubted my ability to sleep at all, but I fell asleep quickly and deeply. Covered in the comfy blankets of my bed and clothed in more than my birthday suit. Bruno was sleeping to my feed.

The next day I woke up well rested.
I went into town and did some shopping. Mostly groceries, but also condoms.
I also managed to stock up my fridge with my newly bought groceries.
Joe and I arranged it so that I would pick him up from the bus stop and show him my place. So, I did my best to clean the house. I vacuumed the entire house: hallway + carpets, kitchen, living room and upstairs bedroom, bathroom and office. When the floor was clean, I wiped off all the dusty surfaces and dog hairs off the furniture. It took me nearly two and a half hours to finish, and when I was done, I dropped onto my couch to catch a break. But I found the couch still smelly and somewhat oily. Then “DING”, my phone. Joe texted:
“I'm omw”
I quickly wiped off the evidence of Saturday night and hurried to the bus stop.

As the last corner was about, I began walking faster, basically jogging towards my destination. But then, right as I jogged around the corner, I crashed into him. Joe.
“Shit! Sorry.”, I exclaimed.
“No harm done, sweetheart.”, he said while getting back on his feet. 'He's already calling me sweetheart?', I thought and dusted off some dirt.
“Back to my place? Or do you want to go elsewhere?”, I asked.
“Well, I already drove out into the tundra to visit you, so unless there's something real special you want to show me, I'd say we go to yours.”
I don't even live that far off, but it was at a ten-mile drive to town, so he was kinda right(?)
“Then let me guide you the way to my bungalow, fierce traveler.”, I bowed as If Joe was a member of higher class. We laughed and began to walk back to my place.
Bruno greeted us at the front gate and accompanied us on the small way to the house, before heading off again to roam around the garden.
We took our shoes off and hung up our jackets, before going into the kitchen.
“So, Joe”, I said his name slowly and playful, “Have you eaten today? Are you hungry?”
“Oh, Gwen”, he said in an equally playful matter, “I am, indeed, hungry.”
A grin spread over my face.
“How about, and hear me out — there's this super crazy idea that I had — How about…”, I spoke extra long to tease him a little. “… we make lunch?”
“That sounds awesome. Do you mind?”, he stood before the fridge and had put a hand on the door.
“No, not at all.”, I said and stepped up to him, to look over his shoulder. I couldn't. He was just a bit too tall.
“Do you have anything in mind you want to prepare?”, Joe asked.
Squeezing myself past him, I reached out for a back of meat from the butcher.
“How about a beef goulash?”
“Oh, are you some sort of professional chef?”
“No, but I inherited most of the recipe books from my grandma. But this would take up quite some time.”
He shrugged and we began preparing the goulash.
