Chapter 39 by Impregmaniac Impregmaniac

When is the next entry?

21st of June.

21st of June 17XX,

In the three weeks since my arrival, I have seen and learned much about the Madosin people.

They go about their lives, as you and I would, with their work, chores, troubles, songs, and what have yous. Games and politicking. Hunting the Forest for game, braving the Seas for fish, clearing their Fields for next years sowing. Buying what they need and selling whatever they can spare when the trader's Ship came to dock. But that business was concluded quickly. That Ship remained no longer than two days. I had presumed that it was because the captain had been delayed on their way here and wished to not risk their bonus, but upon speaking to them, they said that they did not wish to linger in Madosin and had sent their most business-minded crew ashore.

I had no misunderstandings as to why they had done so, but at the same time, I did. A crew full of men, trapped at Sea for weeks or months on end, with no outlet for their Desires. They should have been jumping off the Ship and swimming towards shore the moment they spotted Civilization. And surely, for how 'neighborly' the Madosinites are, I was sure that their advances would not be answered in the contrary.

It was then when I recalled that Madosin is not viewed favorably beyond it's borders. That they believe this place to be one of vile Evils and Abominations. Even the dock workers, who greeted their peers with open arms and welcoming smiles, were subject to brief, if brusque, exchanges. Although I do not know if that is the norm amongst those of that profession. Once all that was needed saying and doing was said and done, they spoke to each other, by yelling between Ship and dock. It felt like they were afraid that even stepping foot upon the land would corrupt them.

And I fear they may be right.

Where once I would have been disgusted or, at the very least, set at unease, with the much used freedom that Madosin has regarding sex, I have found it easier to find something else in the vicinity to distract me, or ignore them to some degree. However... I confess... that there were times when I feigned ignorance. I did my best to focus my attention on whatever it was I was trying to do, but I would occasionally, observe them out of the corner of my eye. There were also times when I would come upon a couple, too busy being in flagrante to notice me, and rather than disturb them, I tended to hide myself and... observe them until my... curiosity was sated.

But that was enough musing for one morning. After my midday's meal, Howard informed me that I had a caller in my sitting room once more.

Who was it?
