Chapter 13 by tempura tempura

What do you awaken to?

...Breakfast?

"...Mhmmm..." You awaken to the feeling of sunlight on your skin. The sand... it's surprisingly comfortable. What time is it? And... what is that smell? You peer forward blearily. That smell... food?

"Hey! Look who's finally up. And I thought I slept in late!" Yu says cheerily. She's gotten dressed, wearing her special underwear and your button-up, the sleeves rolled up, and sits in front of a tiny fire, roasting two small fish skewered on the end of a stick like marshmallows. Your stomach rumbles.

"Woah. How'd you get ahold of those?" you inquire, eyes locked on the food. You notice that the sun is quite high in the sky; did you sleep in till noon?

"Glad you asked! Pretty proud of myself, actually," She smugly replies. "Woke up like, two hours ago, and was famished. Scraped out a coconut, but it wasn't enough. Figured that there had to be some fish, right? It's an island after all. So I gigantified, waded out, and kept scooping up and dumping water until I noticed I caught some! Got the fire going using some stuff I learned from a TV special, what, with twisting the thing, and the friction and stuff." She pulls the stick away from the blaze. "Want one?"

You hungrily accept, tearing into the fish, almost burning yourself in the process. "Not that it's a bad thing, but you seem pretty positive, all things considered." You **** out between mouthfuls.

Yu shrugs, sitting down next to you. "Just trying to stay upbeat. To be honest, I'm more pissed off than anything. Also, hope you don't mind if I borrow your shirt. Was having a hard time getting used to looking down and barely seeing my lower half." She disdainfully presses her breasts together.

As you finish, Yu pulls out the map. "So, I believe we are currently near the east most point of 'Finch Island'. To the west, in the center of the island, there's a small mountain chain. To the northwest, there appears to be some large lake. To the southwest, it looks especially heavily forested. The beaches seem to stretch along the perimeter of the island, except for in the north, which is lined by cliffs. We don't really know how big this place is, but it can't be THAT big for it to be unknown to the public. Any input on where we should head toward?"

Where to?
