Chat with Sierra

Once you've settled in, you have your tea, and give Sierra the okay to turn on the TV, the room falls quiet. The volume is pretty low on the tv, and it's currently just playing the news of some police chase down the freeway. Surprisingly, there is no human in the running vehicle, but instead a rogue AI that injured a pedestrian. Intrigued, you reach for the remote to turn the volume up, but wait, there is no remote! After some confusion, you look up at the wall.

"Um... Sierra?" "Yes, master?" Her voice responded. "Do you have a request?" It wasn't the question that you were interested in, it was the fact that you've never used a smart system before. Artificial intelligence wasn't new, but for a long time, humans were afraid of them, skeptical that they would try to take over the world like in the movies. After many trials and debates, artificial intelligence proved that they deserve a place in the world along side humans, to help as equals. That was the new part about them.

After the AI earned their rights, products began to come out to the public for them to service. Various types of AI were developed to perform different tasks. One of the most advanced are smart home systems. As they're rights state, AI are equal to humans, and must be treated as such. Don't refer to them as robots or computers. Instead refer to them as companions. They have personality, spirit. They are people too.

"Master? It's everything alright?" Sierra's voice snaps you back to the moment. The TV moved on to news about the weather, still rather quiet, but you can hear it through the silent room.

"Ah, yeah. Yes, everything's alright." It was strange talking with someone who wasn't really there. Aside from her voice, Sierra didn't have much presence at all.

"Very well. Is there anything else you need? I can make lunch, warm up a bath... Maybe even a massage? I have been programmed with hundreds of stores and techniques from across the world."
