Freshwater Fish

Fresh water fish are adapted to live in the unsalted waters of the main land.

Brooks, strams, rivers Lakes, marshes, deltas, as long as the water's salts are under a certain level, fish will struggle to gain whatever minerals and salt from the water while they expel the water which under osmosis pressure seeks to penetrate their bodies.

Once it was said that great sanctuaries hid deep lakes, but alas, the fresh waters are too easily influenced by the powers of the land, whether it is solution, overfishing, climate change, terraforming and so on, countless and promising merfolk sanctuaries have risen and fallen.

At present most freshwater menfolk have to grow up from roe in protected sanctuaries and gradually learn to adapt to sea water. Inspire of this adaptation you'll find that most fresh water fish will seek their way towards the land whether by instinct of comfort.

Furthermore, many freshwater menfolk dream of building a prestigious menfolk sanctuary. Due to their close proximity to land dwellers, as well as the limited space it has to be acknowledged that compared to the menfolk of the sea, most fresh water menfolk are skilled att concealment and spatial magic. You'll find that there are many hidden coves and spaces hidden in the fresh waters of the land.
