You chat with her

For a few minutes, you both are in silent. She is jut walking, with you in your seat. Meanwhile, you are just enyoying the experience. You never even imagined that something likes this was possible. Not only that, from your new position the things that you are able to witness are many. It will take a while for you to fully assimilate all this into word for later tales.

However, soon enough you decide to ask something to Valentina:

-"This is very nice and all, but we need to know what are we going to research for the presentation. Any ideas?"-

She stops when asked, yet in a way that is confortable to you. It's not sudden, but rather a slowdown. This girl, there is something more to her that you know, and that is something that makes a little curious.

She puts of of her massive fingers into her chin, thinking something. Then, she speaks:

-"What about the middle ages? Is a topic that I am personally quite into, in relation to other historical areas."-

-"Sound a good idea. I'm personally more into the modern to comtemporary history, but I have read a few history books specific to that certain period."- you answer, smiling. It appers she is a history nerd just like you.

-"Really? Then I asume that the modern period is your area of expertise?"- she says, while once again walking.

-"You bet! After all, is the period that when things started to change. No longer were lilis at the mercy of the gulliverians, or especially you brobis."- you anwer, whith clear pride in your words.

In that moment, a cold feeling surges through your spine. Shit! She could take your energetic exclamation as a ultra-liliputian, or an anti-brobdignag. She could be offended, or worst.

You look at her. Then, you realice that she aparently has not been affected. Yet your sense of inner guilt is brewing little by little, which compels you to say, while scratching your head.

-"Sorry. That might have sounded bad. I apologise if I offended you."-

Without even looking at you, she answers. Her smile remains steady.

-"Why are you apologizing? You have done nothing wrong. There is nothing inherintly wrong about having pride in one's people history."-

-"But, you are not even a little offended? I might have sounded like a anti-brobdignag.-" you say, still a bit nervous.

She chucles a little, before answering:

-"Sure, but unless you actually believe that you liliputians, due of your higher technology, have the "right" of "superiority", then one should not asume the worst of an otherwise normal act, that has no really good not bad intentions. Neither one should feel that because one's ancestors treated others like insects, you need to feel forever guilty and ashamed, never capable of acting correct and good; like a few "brobys" I have meet."-

She is clearly talking about the trend you have heard that exist in brobdignag society. Yet, it does not sound that she is a supremacist. You remain silent, just listening to her:

-"Everyone that know proper history, knows that the way brobdignags treated the other two kinds of humans is wrong to our standars, yet also knows than that was the way in those times. One gains nothing about feeling guilt over something you neved did. Instead, one must remember, and learn, so in the future, such things cannot happen again. That is something my father and mother have taught me, and that I personally agree as well. After all, if one does not know the past, it's bound to repeat itself again in a new vessel, yet with the same content.-"

She looks at you, and the feeling of being safe, even protected, covers you. She then enters the library through the main door.
