Chapter 2 by hexall hexall

Who are you?

June Hyland, brobdignagian looking for a roommate

You are in love with Lemuel city: its futuristic architecture, its lovely people, its perfect organization, the opportunities! Moving in here was the best decision you ever took in your life, leaving behind the old and stuffy hometown where you lived before, where the most advanced piece of technology was an old PC in the public library, that could barely handle loading the simplified version of the internet Brobdignag gets.

But here in the city at the center of the world, you have the best technology the world can offer at your fingertips. You never even played a single videogame before coming here, but you quickly became addicted with them. Who knew that a box of metal and cables could give so much joy? Not to mention the medical tech, they fixed your teeth in a couple of weeks, where your old dentist, as sweet as he was, could not accomplish that in years of work.

The only problem you have is one of quantity. You work as a bartender in a mixed-size establishment, and as much as you love serving the tiny people, basking in their awed stares while you deliver them their micro-portions of food, it does not pay that well. You can afford your apartment only thanks to the city's generous welfare programs, but you still have not much left at the end of the month. You want more, to buy more games, more gadgets to show off to your old friends back at your home town, you want to experience everything that city can offer.

No, you need a roommate. You are pretty, in your humble opinion, so it should not be too hard. Your slender, tall body, petite curves, long red hair and grey eyes make you a pretty penny in tips at your workplace. You are not particularly proud of the fact that your good looks are half the reason why you bring home what you bring home, but not doing so would be folly.

And so you look for a roommate. You think of another brobdignagian at first, you love the little guys but having one in your home could be stressful, you would always have to keep an eye out for them constantly, but you soon discover that the city's administration gives out bonuses for mixed-size co-tenants.

So you widen your search, and a number of offers reach your inbox

Which one do you accept?
