Level Up - Shannon Reaches Level 2

Shannon stood still in the hallway as fear took hold.

"Okay, so the party responsible for this crazy day is outside. How should I approach them? What should I say? What should I ... ?" She whisper to herself.

"Excuse me, miss? Do you know what these 'Breeding Passes' are for?

Shannon looks down to find four young high schoolers standing in front of her. The girl who asked the question was handing out the card in her direction.

"Oh, those they let you get pregnant from your man, or let you impregnate your woman," Shannon says passively before shifting her attention back to the sliding glass doors.

"Wow, that's gross!" Said one teen,

"What? how is that possible?" Said another.

"Wait a minute, how did you freshmen get those passes? Only eighteen-year-olds can use them?" Shannon askes

"Hey were sophomores thank you very much." The boy in the back of the group yelled angrily.

"What do you mean how? The guy outside just handed them to us." Said the girl in front.

"Hey forget this lady let's go to the arcade already". Said another

The group of teens begins to walk away. Thinking quickly Shannon concludes that the man in the black hood must have accidentally handed 'Breeding Passes' to under-aged teens.

"Hey, sophomores! I will give you all 20 bucks for each of those cards." Shannon says before flashing a wad of cash out of her purse.

"25!" yelled the angry boy

"Deal," Shannon said with a smile.

All four teens handed their cards over, as Shannon gave them each 25 dollars in return. The teens quickly walked away, all of them thinking they got a great deal for trading a stupid joke card for cash.

"Great ... now what?" Shannon said to herself.

All 5 'Breeding Passes' were fanned out in her hand. Looking at the cards Shannon thought she would use them as evidence against the people responsible. But now that seems stupid. There are probably hundreds of these cards circulating around the mall. What advantage would 5 'Breeding Passes' be to approaching the Hooded figure?

Feeling stupid she stacked the cards and was about to put them inter her purse when ...

Flash!

A red glow sparked across the deck of cards in her hand. Almost dropping the cards in surprise, Shannon recovers and grips them tight. Upon closer inspection of the glowing deck, Shannon discovers the deck has become 1 card.

Across the top of the 'Breeding Pass' Shannon sees a new title, 'Level Up'. Looking at the card in detail, Shannon sees the description now shows a new message.

Feeling the compulsion to know what it says, Shannon begins to quietly read out loud.

"Congratulations you have Leveled Up! You have Reached Life Sister Level 2: Human Witch Initiate. The Los Angeles Life Witch Coven formally invites you to experience one day of magic. Being pregnant and collecting 5 'Breeding Passes' has awakened your womb. Through your womb, you can absorb 'Life Energy' from the 'Breeding Day Ritual'. We understand becoming a mother is stressful. Often you just want to be left alone. Therefore until the Breeding Day is done you may become invisible to other people. You will not have true invisibility, instead, everyone including your baby daddy will completely ignore you unless you are close to them. To activate your invisibility, rub your hand across your bare belly three times and say On or Off."

Shannon flips the card and reads the backside "P.S. If you seek more levels and magic please join the L.A. Life Coven, To join, hold hands with two or more other Witch Initiates and repeat these words: I am a Life Witch. I swear to create and nurture life. I swear to fight for the LA. Coven. I swear to destroy all **** Magic users."

Coming back to her senses Shannon looks around.

"Did I just read this out loud?" Shannon whispers.

Realizing that the hallway is too loud to be overheard Shannon relaxes.

"Well, Shit!" Shannon says a little louder.

Looking back to the single glowing 'Breeding Pass' Shannon smiles and drops it into her bag.

"Witches are behind the 'Breeding Passes'!"
