Is That Some Sort of Riddle?

Chapter 5 by dracone

The two made their way down the tunnel until they came to a door blocking their way, there appears to be some characters carved into the surface of the door. Taking a closer look, the two were kind of confused, puzzled, and perplexed when they could make out the wording on the door. What it said just felt off, and weird. On the door, in an older dialect of the common script that was just removed enough from the modern vernacular it almost felt like another language was an expression about bosoms and offspring that had wording that made it clear it was a riddle or at least some kind of word puzzle.

"I'm sorry, the lighting issue is making me not able to make out all of what is written here," said Evan, "what do you make of all this?"

His companion looked at him and asked, "What have you managed to make out?"

"Something about bosoms and offspring," Evan replied honestly.

"Wow, you really are only getting a fragment," said his companion, "it says 'from the bosom of the earth, the first of my kind arose, the offspring of the sea called me to mate, together we bask in the winds and learned of the many kinds of flame.' I'm not entirely sure what that's supposed to mean."

"Some sort of reference to lore or an old story," said Evan contemplatively, "My mother told me an old story about how the first males were made from clay pulled from the mountains and made wet with rain by the gods but they chose to sculpt females from sand and clay mixed together and moistened with the water of the sea. I think she might have come from a place that saw frequent trade wi..." the door slid open with the audible sound of groaning stone.

"Well, something you said was clearly the answer."

"Yeah, but what parts?"

The two entered the room beyond. What met them was a well-lit room, the cause of which was unclear, with what appeared to a number statues of the male and female form for a wide variety of races, the oh-so-elusive dwarf was not among them, scattered about the room itself on the other side of the room. From the looks of things, there were a few dozen statues. The room itself was 100 feet wide, 200 feet long, with a ceiling 150 feet above them. The whole room seemed to be crafted of some kind of white sandstone. The two could just barely make out a door frame on the other side of the room between all the statues.

Marking the halfway point of the chamber were 8 sets of chests, 4 on the left side against the wall and 4 on the right side against the wall. Looking over at his companion, Evan saw she appeared to be some kind of beastkin that also had a figure far more attractive than most of the people he had encountered, she was definitely more attractive than any human he had encountered, she also seemed to be devoid of anything resembling attire, he just hadn't noticed because of the lack of light until then but now he could see her perky DDD-Cup bosom in its unmitigated glory, and her rear wasn't bad to look at either when he snuck a quick peak, it was almost as big as her bosom and quite round, even with the fur and some other animal feature he was having trouble making out because of his angle. "Sorry about the late introduction," said Evan, "I'm Evan," he put up his hand in a friendly gesture.

"Fera," said the woman, "a pleasure," mimicking Evan's gesture.

"So," said Evan, "have any suggestions on how to approach our options?"
