A familiar face visits

It felt like forever ago Shauna had walked into this waffle joint with Patty. She, much like Patty, had promised to visit with Jessie. But Patty wasn’t allowed to until Jessie’s trial was over, and it had gotten stalled.

Shauna walked into the restaurant. She’s enjoyed her meal the last time and wanted it again.

“Hey trouble… table for one?” A familiar voice asked.

Patty was standing at the host stand with Billy.

“Damn Gal,” Shauna said, looking him over “who are you and what have you done with my best friend?”

“Didn’t you say that to be back at the police station!?”

“I don’t remember…” she said with a bit of laugh.

Billy sat her while Patty went to handle something.

She was sipping some coffe when Oatty said down across from her a few minutes later.

“You two still having sex in the storage room?”

“Every day…” Patty said with smile.

Shauna laughed.

Patty didn’t.

“You… wow, you keep changing more and more…”

“Well, here’s a big change, I asked Billy to marry me. He said yes. And I was wondering if you’d do me the honor of standing by my side.”

“Huh?” Shauna said looking up.

“One of the witnesses. I don’t know if they ever decided on a term for when you ask someone of the opposite sex… I think it’s still best woman, I guess.”

Shauna caught what he was asking.

“Sure. Of course I’ll do it.” She said.

“Thank you so much…” Patty said with a smile. “Here’s mine and Billy’s new address, we can talk Turkey later…”
