Secrets all around

Author’s note: Short chapter today, once again this branch is going to be a bit slow until I finish up the main branch, which will be soon, I promise!

The next week is a flurry of activity, between getting Marin and Sanni moved in, and finishing the work for the outposts. You had nearly forgotten the competition until one morning Hayley bounces up to you, even more chipper than usual. “So…you excited for the competition with Andrew and his workshop? Helja heard back this morning!”

You blink, then groan. “This means I need to meet your ex, doesn’t it.”

Sanni, who has been quietly sitting beside you, chuckles. “From everything I’ve heard, you don’t need to worry, Greg. Everyone seems to have moved on!”

Hayley nods. “He has a group of girls like you do, you’ll see. And besides, we’re all yours anyway.”

You look around. “Speaking of, where is everyone else?”

Hayley giggles. “Having a secret meeting! No Greg allowed. And no Sanni, because she tells you everything.”

Sanni smiles. “I can’t help it, I don’t want secrets with Greg!”

You lean over and kiss the lamia, and receive a happy sigh in return. Hayley laughs. “You two are adorable. But don’t worry, you’ll love this secret!”

You laugh, shaking your head. “It’s Naia’s involvement that worries me. That woman is a whirlwind. So, when do we meet up to do this competition?”

Hayley smiles. “Tomorrow. It’ll probably take a couple days, too. He still won’t say what the competition is, either.”

You shrug. “I’m sure we’ll find out tomorrow, then. I promise I’ll try to relax.”

The redhead dwarf grins.
