Back inside Lex's castle

Chasan, Diniel, Goren Ulayra, and several areas throughout the land, watched as Lex fought with such valor against this unrelenting horde of demons. Everyone watching felt pain throughout their bodies every time Lex's body was struck. Chasan and Diniel tails frizzed as tension filled the air. They began to hold hands as Diniel spoke. "This is where Lex will make his choice. Until this is concluded, I shall pray for our Lord." Chasan felt a chill down his spine, his ears leaning back. "Wait, you don't mean he'll.." Diniel nodded slightly. "No mortal could last against such an overwhelming horde of demons."

Goren Ulayra as well as several areas throughout the land watched in silence as Lex continued his struggle against the demon horde. Some, upon hearing Diniel's words, knelt down to pray. Others began to cheer saying he could do it and to show them who's top dog and various iterations of that. More and more began to pray while even more folks began to chant and cheer.

Back to the battle at hand

Lex managed to kill almost every imp over the next nine seconds, but at a high price. The imps had improvised, turning around to strike at him with their poisonous tails at a distance, allowing more of them to attack him at once. 36 x 1,865 = 67,140 xp, $.18 x 1,865 = $335.70

The imps moved away from the corpses, finally realizing what was the cause of their demise. The truly worrisome thing was they were all starting to channel some purplish lightning spell. Lex closed his eyes for a second. Should Lex have faith in his ghoul to bring his sword and shield in time? Should he spend his 65 new skill points in Strength to possibly save his life? Or should he not take the risk and switch to female form to save his hide, but forfeit his quest's bonus?
