The Occult Club

Author's Note: Hi guys, this story originally started in the thread of The Submission Accelerator, so do give them some love. After realizing that my vision for this story was not in line with the core concept of the original setting I decided to move to a new place. So the starting chapters are quite similar to the ones posted there. And now enjoy the Occult Cult...

A long time ago, far out in the middle of nowhere, there is a town plagued by mishaps. Some say that the town in run by a coven of witches, others swear that a cabal of high-tech gadget users control everyone and everything. The truth, as always lies some where in the middle. The two groups do exist but they don't control the town. Well, not by themselves. These two rivals have been battling for supremacy for ages.

As time went by the middle of nowhere became the state of Virginia and the town was now the popular University of Virginia. The stories about witches long forgotten and the tech cabal lived only in the minds of conspiracy nuts. But sometimes the conspiracy turns out to be true. And these two long forgotten entities are once again coming out of the shadows and resuming their age old feud.

Caught in the middle of this is our protagonist, the objective - survive.

Now how to survive depends how badly we want what we want. Some bury their heads in sand and wish for everything to go away. Some ignore everything and only care if they are directly impacted. Some need to serve the greater good and are willing to not "survive" if others can. And some, well some are just plain evil and would rather use the ensuing chaos to ensure they get to have their fun.
