Pretend They Were Her Own Idea

The Invisible Woman stared down at the thick adamantium rings that tugged at her nipples. There had to be a non-invasive way to remove them.

"H.E.R.B.I.E., where is Kitty Pryde?" Sue Storm asked.

"Off-world," the robot said after a moment.

"What about the Vision?" she asked.

"Off-world," the robot said.

"Any of the Visions. He built a daughter or something, right?" Sue said, an edge of desperation creeping into her voice.

"Off-world," the robot repeated.

"Are there any other superheroes with phasing powers we can contact?" Sue said, as her fingers rose to play with the cold metal rings.

"Processing," H.E.R.B.I.E. said as he searched several databases. "Negatory. All known heroes with phasing powers are off-world or inactive."

"Dammit," Sue said, and tugged on the rings experimentally. The sensation was less unpleasant than she had thought at first. Her nipples stiffened at the unexpected stimulation, swelling around the rings. The metal inside her was still weird, but not unbearable.

Pride warred with practicality in Sue's mind. She couldn't exactly hide the rings. They were too big, too protuberant. The Invisible Woman would need extra padding in her costume just to hide them. On the other hand, there didn't seem to be any non-surgical way to remove them, at least until someone came back that could phase them out of her flesh or could manipulate molecules at the level of the Silver Surfer.

"So, I either admit to Reed that I was overpowered by a villain and pierced against my will," Sue Storm said aloud. "Or...or I pretend it was my own idea to get my nipples pierced."

Sue chewed that thought over. Rather than publicly acknowledge her humiliation, she could present them as her own idea. There would be no need to lie to Reed—she could explain it to him in private. That would keep her image intact, at least, until she could deal with the situation.

The communicator beeped. A subspace transmission from Reed and the other members of the Fantastic Four. Sue Storm took a deep breath, and realized she was still playing with her nipple rings. Carefully, she let them go, the heavy metal rings dragging her nipples down. She made everything below the neck invisible as she moved to receive the transmission.

Reed appeared in the window, his beard growing in wild, dark bags over his eyes. The cabin behind him was dark.

"Sue, darling," he said, his voice a hoarse whisper. "Sorry to call you so late. Johnny and Ben are getting some sleep. I need to tell you that we discover we've been misled—someone laid a false trail for us through the dimensions. We aren't sure why, but we're headed back now."

The Invisible Woman took a deep breath. That sounded like more of Doom's handiwork.

"Hello, Reed, sweetheart," she said. "There's been...developments here as well."

So she told him. About Porkum, the chocolates. She let her chest fade into view and showed the heavy adamantium rings that tugged at her dark nipples. Reed's eyes went wide, his pupils dilated...and, to Sue's amazement, she saw a glimmer of interest in his face that she normally only saw on those rare nights when he wanted to make love with the lights on.

"...since I can't remove them, for the moment, I've decided to tell everyone else they were my idea," Sue finished.

Reed nodded.

"Your secret is safe with me, darling. It will take us a week or two to get back. Try to avoid this Porkum—if he's in league with Doom, he's more dangerous than he seems! We'll figure out what to do once we're all together again," he said. Oddly, as he spoke, she noted that Reed's brown eyes had drifted down, staring not at Sue's eyes, but her tits. She looked down as well, and realized that her fingers were playing with her rings again.

"I love you," she said.

"I love you, too," he smiled, then the transmission ended with a burst of rainbow static.

Sue gave both rings a little tug, and squirmed in her seat, suddenly wet. This was beginning to become a habit. Yet even as Sue adjusted to her new reality, Porkum and Doctor Doom were working out the next part of their scheme.
