It’s a couple of hours later, and Keith is sitting on the couch with Ava. He’s flipping through television channels, enjoying the return of his ability to read without pain. Ava leans against him, tapping away on her laptop. Keith occasionally glances at the screen, but can make no real sense of what she’s doing. What little he understands seems to be some kind of magical research, but that’s all he can gather. Regardless, she seems happy, leaning against him and occasionally snacking from a shared bowl of popcorn. They had sandwiches earlier, and now they sit quietly together, simply relaxing.

However, the quiet doesn’t last. Keith hears Gina’s loud laughter outside the door to the apartment, and the door swings open. Gina and Devin walk in, each carrying large bags. Gina practically shouts as she enters the apartment.

“Got ya something, stud!”

She tosses one of the bags to Keith, who reflexively catches it. Thankfully, it’s not heavy, and it seems to be full of clothes. Keith looks at Gina, who grins.

“We figured ya might want to change clothes at some point. Well, Devin did. I’d be cool if ya wanted to just go naked!”

Devin rolls his eyes, but smiles. “I took the liberty of checking the size on the clothes you left on my floor. Hopefully these fit.”

Keith chuckles. “I appreciate it, thank you. I’ll find a way to pay you back.”

Devin shrugs. “Don’t worry about it. Ava and I aren’t exactly hurting for money.”

Gina laughs. “Yeah, you two are rich kids!”

Ava shakes her head. “Devin perhaps, but my family is simply financially stable.”

Gina crosses her arms. “Yeah, whatever. I’m only here because of my scholarship.”

Keith interrupts what seems to be a slightly sensitive topic. “Well, I’m glad you there are here. And again, thanks.”

Gina’s grin returns. “You can pay me back in the bedroom, stud. Speaking of…you two are awfully cozy, hmm?”

Ava blushes, looking away, which only encourages Gina. “Oh, shit! You two did it, didn’t you! Hell yes!”

Keith chuckles. “Hey, a gentleman doesn’t discuss those things.”

Gina rolls her eyes. “Bullshit, I want details! C’mon, Ava, how was it?”

Ava giggles, surprising Keith. “It was so good! You’re not wrong, Gina, he is a stud…”

Keith blushes. “Girls? I’m right here…”

Devin laughs. “Get used to it. We did warn you.”

Gina nods, bouncing on her toes in her excitement. “Yeah! And hey, that means I’m the only one who hasn’t gotten laid! You better be in my bed tonight, stud. I wanna get pounded into the mattress!”

Devin rolls his eyes. “Okay, Gina, let’s let the man relax. After all, they’re so cute, cuddling on the couch like that.”

Gina pouts, but there’s amusement in her eyes. “Fiiiine. So, did ya get your brain fixed?”

Keith nods. “Yeah. Amelia couldn’t help me, but she does want to run some tests on me or something. But she sent me to Jen, who managed to fix the problem.”

Devin grins. “Ahh, Professor Jen. I wouldn’t mind calling her mommy and…anyway. I’m glad they were able to help you. I heard they dated, years ago.”

Gina laughs. “And they definitely both have an interest in humans. Ya get their number, stud?”

Keith shrugs. “Well…I got Amelia’s. Like I said, she wants to examine me.”

Gina winks. “Yeah, I bet. Good luck, you’ll need it!”

Ava sighs. “It’s weird hearing you talk about my professors like this…”

Gina smiles. “Sorry, Ava. I’ll stop. At least for now.”

Devin nods, walking over and handing Kevin the other bags. “You should try these on, too. Make sure everything fits.”

Keith laughs, getting up from the couch. “I suppose. You just want to get me undressed again.”

Devin winks, a big smile on his face.
