What will it be? Trap or fight?
Prepare a trap
You look around and quickly find a long stick, almost as thick as your tumb. Quickly you begin to scratch runes in the earth. You begin with a big circle and hope it is big enough. If not, you waste your time and the trap will not work. You draw rune after rune along the inner circle line. Creating this under pressure is much more complicated than it maybe looks. One mistake and the whole circle will probably just do nothing. And the chimera cets closer with every second. You already see the bushes in the distance getting pushed away.
Finally, with shaking hands, you write down the last rune. Then you touch the circle and allow your mana to flow trough your hand and charge up the trap. As soon as this is done, you get up and hurry to the other end of the ceiling. And not a second too early, because in the moment you get up, the bushes across the ceiling open and the chimera bursts out. It looks terrible. Big parts of the fur is burned and there are several dangerous looking burning marks. At least on of its fangs is broken.
The chimera growls at you angry. It if full of range because Tocar seems to have hurt it badly. It will not allow any other potential threat even close to its hideout. You are so shocked that you immediately stumble backwards. To your surprise the chimera jumps foward and lands directly in the circle, which it totally overlooked, just like you hoped. You hear a strange humming when the magic begins to work. The chimera has a second to realize its mistake.
