Preparations for battle

With her mind focused on her task, Rosa started moving through the mansion. She had new servants and she intended to take

She moved to the barracks – some of her siblings already were gathering soldiers to their personal units. Rosa decided to use the household warriors to create her own unit of

warriors.

The Ruth warriors waited for the scouts to return.

Some were resting, some practising, some discretely were making out. Rosa, having some free time, decided to

[C1]motivate her squad with a speech and jokes, being her usual gregarious self.
[C2]get to know her underlings, checking which of those lasses would be worth recruiting to her personal retinue.

Soon her attention was drawn to a running woman. She knelt in front of Lady Ruth and gave her report. Her mother turned to the army and called

“Prepare to March!”

Soon the women raised and readied their weapons. The march resumed… they did not march far. The plain in which they meet the enemy was an open plain between the hills and forest.

It was goblin army, alright. And they had shields, that made our archers useless. The Ruth army counted about 150 soldiers – goblins looked like had double the numbers. Still, it looked like it would be an easy victory.

“Form up!” Lady Ruth called. “Advance!”

“Ha!” tens of voices answered as the spears, swords and axes clanked, as the army started marching.

Rosa decided to position her unit

[D1]on the left flank, with the weakest soldiers of the army.
[D2]on the right flank, near Lady Ruth.
[D3]in the centre, where the fight would be the hardest.
