Once Luke had left Kai’s house, he took out his phone and started texting Jack.

Kai closed the messenger app and prepared to type the new daily quest for Jack, when a couple of notifications interrupted him.

It was quite stupid to give Jack a daily quest just for this, but he didn’t want to risk his golden egg hen’s temperament. If Jack stopped listening, the whole entire plan could go to ruin.

“That perk might work, I could purchase it with his perk points, but I think it will be easier to let him acquire it on a quest, and then level it up instantly.” Kai told himself, having already decided on Jack’s next quest.

‘Dammm! Those fuckers are rich!’ Kai almost wanted to scream when he received Jack's report. Vanessa had a couple of grand to her name already, and Jack was just shy of five thousand.

Of course, that was almost nothing considering the economy, but he had been regularly syphoning money from them, and they only had their perks for a couple of days.

Kai wasn’t really happy about this one, but he would have to postpone fitness and friend of the law. The moment he chose someone to become his sacrifice, he would most likely lose his ability to restrain himself to fucking them. And he wasn’t going to take any chances with Luke.

“I don't want to lie to him either, so this will have to do… I’ll just tell them that I found a cute bullyable ****, but he is still the only one I love.” Kai almost laughed when he said that, it was probably the worst excuse someone had thought of giving.

Having finished with that, Kai opened his perk tree and purchased Tribute, preparing himself to buy knowledge transfer whenever it became available.

Not daring nor needing to use his new perk right now, Kai started looking on the public records for a specific student’s contact information.

He was a young eighteen years old freshman with no friends. He was gloomy, antisocial, and actively avoided his classmates on any chance he could. Even when doing the mandated group work, he simply turned in whatever he was requested to do and left.

Those were the things his peers had told Kai about him, rumours he now hoped were true. With a heavy heart, he added his new target to the app, gave him the “Sacrifice mark”, and sent the first quest.

Kai clicked yes and waited for less than a second, before another message appeared on his screen.

Still, we believe you are not trying to actually kill your new target, so we will disable the mind control this time, just to prevent accidents.

Kai smiled slightly, that was probably the most helpful thing they could do for him.
