Picking a tribute.

As he looked toward the mountains John remembered something, he had once again forgotten to set his stat points after leveling and now had 11 of them to attribute.

It was hard to choose, he could aim for the probably really good 50 Intellect achievement or get the one for both strength and charisma. One big bonus or two smaller ones.

He thought about it and decided that while getting even more mana would be useful getting two bonuses instead of one would be best for now. He could always boost Intellect later.

He put 5 in strength, 4 in charisma and the last two points in Intellect. He got two pop ups for it.

A lot of nice stuff, he would like to test it out, but Sylvia had her score stuck at +200rp and hadn't refused a thing since she arrived.

The mountains looked real, not just a bit of rock, but stone, rocks, earth, dirt, gravel, with some grass and lichen growing on it. He could even see some of the mountain goats that now lived here. And some of the Winged Serpents that had not moved to the flying islands seemed to have nested on the highest peaks. Only green ones though, he hadn't seen a blue one yet, not that it mattered with no way to reach the Altar even if he found an egg.

The goats might be tamed as cattle at some point, what John really needed for his kingdom was some sentient creatures to do actual stuff around.

He continued looking around as he ride his bike on steeper paths up the foot of the mountain.

"John there! There's something shiny!" said Sylvia behind him. She pointed at something on their left.

"Let me see... Hey you're right, thanks Sylvia." he replied, kissing her on the cheek.

After a short ride he dismounted his bike near a big rock with shiny veins of some metallic material in it.

He recovered his pickaxe and began hitting the rock, he soon saw a progression bar above it. It filled really slowly and it only advanced if he hit the thing as hard as he could. Finally it filled up .

5 units of stone.
1 Stone fragments (combine 2 to get 1 unit of stone.)

The spot showed 9/10 now. John was disappointed to only get stone, but even this would be useful in the end. He did continue to extract materials from it.

After the 6th stack of 5 stone units he got a pop-up.

"What is it? Did something happen?" asked Sylvia who saw him stop mining.

"My skill to harvest stuff has increased, for now I only got stone, 33 units. I don't know yet if it is random or if what was said of the spot meant that there was a lot of common stuff and little or rare ones. Or if I could mine the whole thing and only get stone if I'm not lucky. " he explained.

"Are you not extra lucky?" she reminded him.

"Yeah, but luck can't work every time. Let's try this again. " he told, more to himself than for her.

The bar was now filling a lot quicker and he had to put less strength in each hit to make it move. And the next drop did finally pay off.

6 units of iron ore

" Yeah! Finally! Doesn't tell me how it works though, but we technically have some tribute for the Underworld Altar now. I will still see what the lasts drop will give to figure if it is random or set." he announced, showing Sylvia the 6 small nuggets of raw iron.

He almost thought the thing had fixed amount of stuff in it when he got another serving of iron ore next putting him at 12 units of it, but he got stone again next.

Finally on the last loot of the spot he got some silver, it would probably count for his money quest once he got it appraised.

Final result:

6 units of silver ore

Sadly he didn't have a forge or furnace yet to melt the ore into workable metal.
As soon as he got his last loot from the spot the whole stone fell turning into dust.

He looked around to see if there was another spot in sight but even focusing on Observe he could see nothing. Except that some mice from his dungeon had somehow managed to move here already. At this point he was convinced that the spread of plants and animals was arranged zone by zone rather than through the movement of individual creatures. There were even a few bunnies, ravens and a fox in sight in addition to the goats and winged serpents.

Sylvia was laying on a flat stone, basking in the sunrays while slowly massaging her pleasure bud above her pussy. She hadn't noticed that he stopped yet.

"You really enjoy your improved body. Happy to see that you like it." he told her. She opened her eyes and smiled.

"This is so wonderful, the sun feels good, fresh water feels good, this is... There's no words for it... I will always love you for giving me this and taking me here. I realize that our fight when we met was a misunderstanding, but you could have killed me. You would have got some experience and rewards for it. But instead you brought me here, offered me the be the mother of a new forest and gave me this unique gift. I will forever be grateful for that. " she told him. The messy spot between her legs had already started make some flowers sprout in the dirt near the stone she was laying on.

"Thank you for these kind words. I would really like to make love to you right now. But if I did it everytime I wanted to, then little else would ever be done. We have to go back home, I want to check this shadow maze. Either we'll stumble upon it quickly or I'll have a better idea of how things look under there and how to find the Altar.

She reluctantly got up and gladly followed him to his bike, he was still only wearing his harness and boxers, she would be able to hug him touch him all the way home.

Like a western hero on his trusted steed he rode to the horizon with the girl behind him.
