What do I tell her?

Pheromone Follies: I don't get to answer

Rachel was looking me dead in the eyes and asking me what was going on.

I was pretty sure I could hear my inner voice cursing myself, but I was in too deep. What mystified me right now was why the effects of the Axe hadn’t worn off. I knew that the odor from my compound made the opposite sex aroused and positively disposed towards the wearer, but we just cleaned up in the shower. Rachel should be kicking my ass or screaming ****. Instead, she was looking at me with a sexy smile, only asking questions out of puzzlement rather than anything else.

Almost swallowing my tongue, I knew something was clearly wrong, and opened my mouth about to speak. But that was when my world started to fall apart.

I could hear the knocking on the door. It was the sort of knocking that carried authority, making both of us jump. I scrambled to pick up my clothes, with all the rush and hurry of a man whose life depends on it. Dressed only in a pair of boxers and pants, I left the bedroom. Downstairs, I looked through the peephole of the door, on the other side, I could see the face of a serious looking woman dressed in a police uniform.

Certain that my sister was nowhere near the door I opened it coming face-to-face with the tallest woman I’ve ever met. She wasn’t ugly, on the contrary, she was a stunning raven-haired beauty who has her hair styled into a short and practical bob that actually accentuated her femininity, yet she was almost 6 feet tall and her posture told me that she had a lot more muscle than the average woman.

To be honest I found her quite intimidating.

“Are you Michael?” Asked the gorgeous mountain of a woman staring down at me, her voice low and serious.

“Yes?” I blinked a little bit in surprise, not sure exactly how to respond. My body felt slightly sticky from committing several felonies.

“We’ve been trying to contact you for three hours now. It’s your mother, she’s been in an accident. Is there something wrong with your phone?

I felt my heart reach up into my throat and **** me. Something that happened to my mom? I’ve been so involved in happily screwing my sister six ways to Sunday to even wonder where my mother had been. I should probably have noticed that she wasn’t back yet, but I’ve been a damn animal. I felt ashamed. The guilt was socking me in the stomach.“Yeah, something like that,” I finally mumbled, “I was taking care of my sister… What’s happened to my mom?” I asked quietly.

“She’s in the hospital a few broken bones and a really nasty head wounds, but she got off better than the drunk who hit her,” Said the officer seriously crossing her arms over her sizable cleavage, “Mostly we have a few questions to ask you since she is still ****, is that okay?” She asked politely.

I swallowed hard still feeling terrible “I’m sorry officer, but if my mom is in hospital, I need to go and see her right away,” I said firmly as I dared, the quaver definitely present in my voice.

The officer looked very tired but nodded understandingly. “Of course, it was foolish of me to assume otherwise,” she said politely. “Here take this,” she added passing me a small contact card and shivering slightly as she touched my hand.

If I’ve been paying attention, I would have noticed the telltale signs, the dilated pupils, the slight escalation and breathing a slightly flirtatious manner, I read the card, he name was Emily Hunt. "Thank you, officer."

“Please let me know if there’s any change in her condition. I'll be waiting for you... just to talk,” said officer Emily, gripping my hand slightly as she moved to leave me alone.

As I closed the door. I felt Rachel’s hand on my shoulder and shivered a little bit. Rachel said softly.“I heard, let’s get dressed and go” Whatever our differences had been with each other, our mother needed us and we needed to get there fast.

Off to the hospital.
