Pete faces a demon?

There was still plenty of daylight left so Pete decided the two of them should join the others in trying to be productive. Zahara went off to find her church, although to Pete it sounded more like a cult, and Pete hit the town market.

They did not have a lot of funds left and he was doubtful in Kelly's ability to make more money. He considered using steal but he had no idea if his ability would work all the time or if there might be magic at play protecting merchants here. So he just wandered the stalls for a bit, he was fascinated by the things he saw. This world was hundreds of years behind earth in terms of technology but magic meant that they still had plenty of wonders for him to fawn over. Looking up from one stall a building caught his eye. Something about the logo...it was familiar. He couldn't read the writing on the sign but he decided to go inside and check it out anyway. Pete struggled but couldn't remove it. "This is a branding iron," She held up the rod and turned it so he could see the flat part. They might be primitive technologically compared to you, and magically compared to me, but I assure you they are all real. They'll suffer the consequences of what you do here. Pete hadn't really considered that all these people were...well...completely real. It made him feel slightly bad for how he'd treated some of them. Just slightly. Still...he didn't know that he could poison their water as Vivi suggested. "Still going to have to pass."

Vivi grinned, "And that's where the watch comes in. See that 12? Time starts...now." Pete watched as it started counting down from 12 hours. "You have 12 hours to use one of those items. Or both, both would be great. But at least one. If the watch reaches zero and neither item has been used...boom!"

Pete looked at her incredulously, "It explodes?"

Vivi scrunched up her face, "What? No. Sex demon. Remember? No, it will change you. With magic. Permanently."

"Change me how...?" Pete asked.

Vivi shrugged, "Guess you'll have to find out. Personally I hope you pick that option. It's my favorite! Anyway my senses are telling me Didi found my decoy so I'm going to head out before she catches me. Bye!" She stuck out her tongue and her body slowly dissipated into mist.

Pete looked down at his wrist and the two items on the counter, "Fuck."
