The detective looked up to see several people along the catwalk above him. Eyeing him as he stood below. He could only see the outline of them at first but as his eyes adjusted, he knew exactly who they were. There was Sal whose wife we met in the last chapter. He wanted Kev as good as dead after throwing so many of his men in the slammer. As well as threatening to throw him in jail unless he did Avery a few favors. Next was Jack Daughton, who had a pretty profitable illegal weapons business until Detective Wellington showed up and shut it down. Sending Daughton to the pen for several years. However, he was surprised to see Brianna Flint, he simply arrested her for public intoxication a few years ago after she hired him to look into her husband.

Avery began to see a pattern after the first three. There were 3 men and 7 women from what he could see. Everyone standing on the catwalk wanted him out or worse. His heart began to race. "Is this it for me?" He thought. He nervously eyed every one of the perpetrators wondering what was going to happen next. Suddenly Sal spoke up as he fixed his fine black suit.

"Detective, you look as if you’ve seen a ghost…… Or several ghosts.” Sal said as he chuckled. “I suppose you’re picking up on the pattern here. Each one of us you wronged in some way. Either screwing us out of fortune or screwing us by throwing us in the slammer!” He slammed his fist down on the railing he was on. “And consider this mercy because at this vantage point we could easily kill you but we have so much more in store for you than that. Brianna, I’ll let you have the floor...”
