People are fleeing Raptors

You twist around, moving Aelita behind you just as a panicked Rapunzel nearly knocked you over as she ran to the kids. “Come along children, we need to run,” She said softly but sternly to a pair of bluehaired kids as she lifted a toddler to her hip. You were about to ask what was wrong when several other people came rushing by following . You hold your left arm out, stopping your brother Oliver who was running with a massive margarita glass.

“What’s happening? Why is everyone running?” Your brother gave you big eyes while still drinking his margarita.

“A big pack of wild raptors from the gift pile is coming this way, security is trying to keep them at bay but they are clever,” Oliver replied just as a large form jumped off of a nearby machine. Kids screamed as the raptor jumped on Oliver only to immediately get a thorn coated fist to face.

“I was talking to my brother!” Oliver raged as he rolled on top of the stunned raptor and continued punching until the dinosaur stopped moving. He gave it one more punch, “And that margarita had Gritalong Tequila and you made me spill it!”

“There are more coming this way!” Starfire said as she flew towards you. She blasted a raptor before it could pounce on Antonio’s Oola.

“The family platform’s defenses will keep us safe!” Aelita said right before you twisted around and picked her up in a bridal carry. She let out a cute gasp as you started running in the direction of the upper table section.

It didn’t take long to get there, the parents of the kids, their bodyguard characters, and the Hinatas from the eating contest were easily able to fend off the raptors pursuing your group. Security teams of inklings and koopas were doing their best to subdue the raptors but the bastards would escape before they could be secured. Those in the inklings case, from what you overheard them say, there is a zombie girl running around biting them causing them to then lose some of the raptors.

“It ain’t a Gardner party unless somebody leaves with a bite mark,” you sister Suvelo laughed as she piledrived two raptors while a third tried to bite down on her left arm. She was in the middle of the dance floor where several of your guests were still dancing.

“Just like that night on Morticon-Bilar Fourteen,” an elf said to his owner as they slowly waltzed around the dance floor. Occasionally, the couple would flick a hand and a raptor would fall.

“I think you can set me down now,” Aelita said as you climbed the five or so steps and passed through the simmering barrier keeping the raptors out. You just lifted her up a bit more and kissed her forehead as you maneuvered around complaining guests and people cheering defenders on.

“A throne for a queen,” you say as you set her down in one of the three thrones at the high table, in particular the one with a pink rose with angel wings on the backrest. “I’m going to see about corralling the overgrown lizards.” You roll up the sleeves of your suit and grab the fire flower decoration on the table. Instantly, your navy blue suit became white with red buttons.

“Be careful, I will see if I can track them on the cameras,” Aelita said as she pulled out a holographic screen.

“I will join you in battle,” Starfire said as she dropped off a couple of guests. You nod in acknowledgment but before you walked to where security was holding back Aelita stopped you.

“Do you have your earbuds? So I can talk to you two?” She asked, looking between you and Starfire.

“Never leave home without them,” you say as you hand one to Starfire. Aelita then called you and connected with her screen.

“Oh cuddlebuggie,” your mom said from her seat nearby. She had a bit of raptor blood on her sleeve that a Toad was trying to get out. “If you are going back out there, I have a little gift for you. An early wedding present if you will.” She then tossed you the thing she had been hiding in her hand.

“Thank mom,” you say as you catch the familiar red topped mushroom. You feel yourself grow a bit taller and more powerful.

“Have fun, oh and I think I saw your father roughhousing over in the gift piles,” she replied. “If you get there before I do, tell him not to be too rough with the raptors, they are only animals.”

“Right…” you say as you watch the Toad remove some broken teeth from your mom’s fist. You turn towards the stairs and match to where you hear raptor hissing and fighting the loudest.
