Pause- Meetup Time!

“Jeff!” Kody jumped up and rushed to the small guy. He was fast to hug the man, the muscles squeezing just a bit too tight for Jeff. Caiden stood up and crossed his arms at the contact. He really didn’t like the interaction between the two.

Jeff tapped out of the hug, his smile confused but genuine. “Greg wasn’t kidding when he said you have changed. Damn you’re a lot bigger now. And damn, your ears finally fit that head of yours.” Kody furrowed his eyebrows and turn to Greg confused.

Greg shrugged and then pointed to the game. With a soft sigh Kody looked back down to the visitor. “Yeah, I’m just glad to see you after all these years. Wasn’t I like ten when I last saw you?”

Jeff tapped his chin in thought then nodded. “Yeah, I’d say about then.” Kody grinned, glancing over to his less than impressed brother. What he didn’t expect was to be yanked down by his choker, a loud yelp of surprise filled the room.

Caiden didn’t waste a second and rushed over to Kody, freeing him from Jeff’s grip and making sure his wolf was okay. “What the fuck Jeff!” Caiden gripped onto Kody’s clothes, trying to calm down.

“He was wearing a necklace, I wanted to know what it said.” Caiden glared at Jeff before looking back to the medallion. The big bold letters of ‘Kody’ sat on it. Underneath, in smaller text, was a word Caiden refused to admit any fault of. What was once ‘Single’ was now held with the title ‘Complicated’.

“It’s just his name.” Caiden practically spit it out, trying his best to keep his cool. David raised an eyebrow but said nothing, staying where he was. Caiden grabbed Kody’s hand and attempted to walk back to the table. “C’mon Kody.”

Kody stayed where he was, his body rigid. “No. I want to talk to him.” Caiden turned to glare at Jeff, his stomach filling with an unknown rage. “Please.” Caiden looked at his brother and felt his rage diminish, the tingling still in his stomach.

With a sigh he responded, “Fine. He needs to go soon though. We’re in the middle of something.” Caiden let go of the hand, walking back to his seat unhappily.

Greg walked up to Jeff, crossing his arms. “I did tell you to stay in my room didn’t I?” Jeff shrank his head back a little but still smiled. “This is an important thing for us. Kody can come talk to you after the game is over.”

Kody growled at that his eyes flickering back to Caiden. “Dad, I can’t really visit tonight. How about you guys play and I talk to him in the living room?”

Jeff shook his head, surprising Kody. “No, whatever your doing I’m sure it’s important. Board games are a great way to keep you all together.” David chuckled, the game had caused nothing but rifts in the family for him. Caiden looked at David a little confused but said nothing.

“Oh.” Kody looked down feeling slightly embarrassed. “Will I get to talk to you in the morning?” Greg frowned, not realizing Kody would have wanted Jeff to stay.

“Well I was planning on leaving-“

“Change of plans, your staying another day.” Greg stepped up beside Jeff, his body pressing into the smaller guys side. Kody looked up with bright eyes.

“Greg I can’t stay. The plane is going to leave tomorrow.” Jeff didn’t expect Greg to grab his arm, nor when the fingers started to gently rub circles into the muscles. “Greg?”

“How about I compensate you each day you stay?” Jeff felt his face grow hot, his arm tingling from the soft caresses. “That sound good?”

Jeff nodded, smiling. “As long as I don’t gotta pay for nothin here, you got yourself a deal.”

“Great.” Greg walked back to his chair, his low hanging pants showing off the boxers to Jeff. “Now if you you don’t mind. We have some family business to get down to.” Kody gave a quick hug to Jeff before rushing back to his seat. Greg stared at Jeff his face unimpressed, “And, uh, we like to keep it private.” Jeff nodded not understanding, “So you can go.”

Jeff rolled his eyes but did as told, going back into Greg’s room.
