There are always those with the least in any nation, a result of stratification that benefits the upper class at the expense of those below them. Even in Ogomia, a land of rationality and learning, education is the luxury of the aristocracy and middle class, and people like you are expected to be workers until you die. You are one of those people, expected to work for your life and live for your work. Maybe it's time that changed.

While you start with very little, and would ordinarily be destined for little more, perhaps there's a freedom in low expectations. Perhaps starting at the bottom allows so much more space to rise.

Your Pauper starts in a village, a farmer with little to your name save a small plot of land that you barely own in any sense of the word. But a visit in the night will unlock a future never before imagined.
