What IS Going on?

Partial Answers

“So, tell me then. What IS going on?”

***

Plot Hook

Objective: [5] Restore something broken

Adversaries: [2] Outlaws

Rewards: [4] Support an ally

Author’s Notes/Interpretation: Robert and his “friends” are already established as outlaws. Tazluk is trying to support his “ally” (so his boss). The ultimate goal being to “Restore something broken.” Being this is Fantasy Adventure and that these are Orcs working for someone. I am thinking a classic Wizard type doing magic things which involve fixing something. Probably something that should stay broken :D

Tazluk looks at Brandy for a moment, as if considering what and how much to tell her. “So, Robert and his crew had something that my boss wanted. So, my crew was hired to acquire it.”

“So, you ARE nothing more than bandits.”

Tazluk’s response to Brandy’s accusation is simply to shrug, “What’s the different between a Privateer, and a Pirate?” Saying privateer with an emphasis of sarcasm. “It all depends on who you’re working for. The difference between a Mercenary, Bandit, Raider, or Soldier mostly comes down to which side you are on and who you are working for.”

Is Tazluk Convincing

Tazluk: 2d6+4[soul]: [2,2]+4=8

Brandy: 2d6+5[soul]-3[Oblivious]=2d6+2: [4, 4]+2=10

Yeah, even Brandy isn’t buying this. Still doesn’t help her situation…

***

Brandy doesn’t buy Tazluk’s justification, but saying so might make him angry, and he still has her tied up, AND she doesn’t know where they are going. Wouldn’t hurt to play along. “So, as a Mercenary that means you have a boss. Is that where you are taking me?”

***

Brandy: 2d6+5(soul)+1(social): 2d6+6; [5, 2]+6=13

Tazluk: 2d6+4(soul); [4, 3]+4=11

Oracle Yes/No (Even); [5,4] YES

***

Tazluk thinks about it for a moment before responding “I supposed there is no point in not telling you. Yes, that is where we are going.”

Brandy feels a spike of fear as she hears this. Which must be notable, because Tazluk actually tries to comfort her. “Oh, don’t worry. I’m not turning you over. Like I said, you are my Bride. The bandit however...”

“Robert” Tazluk looks at Brandy slightly confused when she interrupts him. “His name is Robert.”

“Yeah, well Robert unfortunately is going to be turned over to my boss to be sacrificed.”

“You can’t do that! It’s ****!”

This gets a genuine laugh out of Tazluk. “Oh! And how would his fate be different if he were turned over to your ‘authorities’?” You don’t have an answer to that. There was a bounty on Robert’s head. “Either by hanging or sacrifice, his days are numbered. At least this way I get paid instead of someone else.”

Brandy Skill check: Background (Redeemer of Shelyn)

2d6+3(Mind)+3(skill); [5, 2]+6=13

A lot, the difference is a LOT

***

“The difference is that nothing good happens when some Necromancer starts blood sacrificing people!”

When Tazluk responds he starts to raise his voice. “And what would you have me do Brandy?” It seems you have touched a nerve. “Go inform the local HUMAN Lord? They just love visits from green skins! It isn’t as if most places kill Orcs on sight or anything!” He takes a few calming breaths before continuing. “Besides, I didn’t say they were a Necromancer.”

***

IS the boss a “Necromancer”?

Yes/No (Even); [2,6] No, AND

They aren’t alone.

***

“That isn’t the point.” Brandy isn’t yelling, but she is close. “Whatever they are, whatever they are doing, do you really think you won’t be affected?”

***

Brandy tries to persuade Tazluk, and has Feature(Attractive) which I forgot she had up until now :P. Her feature gives her a minor edge to the roll.

Brandy: 2d6(minor edge)+5(mind)+1(social)=2d6(minor edge)+6; [4, 2, 1]=4+2+6=12

Tazluk: 2d6+4(mind); [6, 5]+4=15

DAMN! The Dice Gods abandoned Brandy

***

Tazluk seems more amused by Brandy’s then anything. “I plan to be on the winning side. Besides, me and my tribe have a good thing going.”

Author’s Note’s: Poor Brandy seems to be at an impasse. She is still Tazluk’s prisoner and beyond getting some basic information from him has failed to persuade him otherwise.

Whatever will happen to her :D

What Happens to our poor Hero?
