Part 9 Afterword

As always, thanks to everyone who leaves comments on the story. I love seeing what everyone enjoys about the story, or any kind of feedback really. It gives me motivation, and I’ve needed a lot of that lately. So thanks again to everyone! I’m glad that so many people are still following this story, even when it’s taken me so long to continue it. I FAILED!!!!!!!!

I went back to the Part 8 Afterword to remind myself of just what I said about writing speed. “I’ll be working on getting the next Part out in a more timely manner.” What a joke! It took me two years to finish Part 9! How could it possibly take that long!? Why even put everyone through the trouble of waiting that long for updates!? If I can’t write any faster, I should just write a chapter about Emilia falling off the damn ferry back from Cinnabar Island and drowning! Ugh, I’m so mad at myself! …Outburst aside, thank you so much for sticking with me through this. You all leave such kind comments, and I feel really bad for taking so long. I’m so sorry!!! The delay was caused by a combination of personal matters, and some real struggles with writing, which I can only chalk up to some extremely poor ideas of what I wanted to do with Cinnabar Island. I ended up going through a lot of rewrites. I forget if I’ve mentioned this or not, but I write an entire Part from start to finish before I start posting, which means I’ve been going back and forth on what to write for two years now. I can’t let that happen again. I know people lose interest over time and drop the story. I wanna do better for you all.

On a brighter note, Part 9 is finished, and we’re nearing the end of the story! Hooray! I’ve got some big things in store, and I think people will like them. As for Part 9, I managed to get a bit of a theme going with the whole “asking for it” angle, which popped up in a few scenes. I also took Emilia’s cowgirl outfit and made it a point of fixation for Blaire, who constantly mocked her modest hometown and even turned our protagonist into a more literal cow girl. As with Part 8, I hope the presence of some recurring themes across multiple scenes made Part 9 more enjoyable than the sum of its smut scenes.

Lactation became a popular topic in Part 9. To think, I was quite worried about whether anyone would like it when I first wrote a lactation scene. The first time was in a Bad End in Part 3, where Emilia gets caught in a trap in Surge’s mansion and the trap makes her lactate. Fast-forward to Part 9, and people are asking in the comments for Emilia to lactate permanently! I think this story’s readers like lactation just fine. I mentioned in the comments, but I don’t intend to make such a permanent change because I still want those parts to be skippable for people who aren’t fans of milky tits (Who???). Still, I really appreciate the comments from people sharing how much they love those scenes, even if they’re asking for more lactation content than I can provide. So don’t be afraid to comment. I appreciate everyone’s feedback! On to the poll!

Time for a character poll again! I always say these are just for fun, and I’ve proven it repeatedly by dragging low-performing characters into new chapters despite no demand for them. This is especially true for Sally, who’s performed terribly in character polls over and over. So rest assured, I’ll still write more chapters with whichever characters I want to write, even if they’re at the bottom of the poll. This time, I’ll be asking for ranked polling, which means you rank the characters from most to least favorite. You only have to rank your top 10, though. Nothing below #10 matters. Also, the options are shuffled when you open it, so the initial order is random. Someone in the comments of Part 8 recommended this, and I rejected the idea at first because it seemed too burdensome, and I was worried fewer people would respond. But I think this will be fun, and it’ll get some more characters into the rankings, since people have tended to vote for very few characters besides Emilia. I hope it’s not too much trouble!
