Part 2

It was around that time, that an inflation of lost Naeiri reports started to circulate throughout the whole community. Suddenly, whole Naeiri settlements started to disappear, Princess and all, while Goroth prosperity in the same region started to spike. Their homes grew bigger, as did their livestock and their general living circumstances became way more beneficial to their needs. It did not take long before the more prosperous clans started to war with the clans that were still living the old way, before the latter also seemed to have discovered the trick to the prior's prosperity, coincidently falling with the disappearance of another Naeiri settlement. This time, though, there was a survivor. And the word of this survivor spread fear in the Naeiri community. "Goroths were raiding Naeiri settlement and took with them the whole tribe.".

For what reason the Goroths did this was yet unknown, but one of the creatures they had always seen as a compatriot were **** members of their species and in huge numbers. When the tribe wanted to alert the surrounding settlements, they, to their worst fears, found them already raided and by the time they found unraided settlement, they heard news of settlements in distant lands that had experienced the same horrors as they did. The remaining settlements of the Naeiri started to apply tactics to stay out of the hands of the Goroths, which seemed surprisingly difficult, even with their power of creation. It was as if the Goroths had a way to fight or sometimes even negate their powers.

Throughout their struggles, they never found out what happend with their kin, apart from their Princesses, which they occasionally found when on patrol, starved, sometimes battered and always dead. Time went on and the Naeiri lost ground each step of the way. One after the other their settlements were raided and the inhabitants never to be seen. Such fate also besieged the forest settlement of Kolina where Princess Irie resided. Irie had used a great deal of her powers to set up a defensive line around the village while her underlings prepared themselves for an inevitable invasion from the forest around them. After preparing they could only wait in fear during the silence before the storm. When night fell, the Naeiri of Kolina were greeted by a strange sparkling of light that grew ever bigger and while the regular villagers looked in awe and amazement, Irie's heart beated in her throat as she knew that these glitters meant her defences somehow were coming undone.

Before she could warn her underlings, the Goroths burst through the gates and chaos ensued. In the flickering light of the city torches Naeiri tried to flee from the clutches of the Goroth, who were rounding up the Naeiri by the masses and locked them up in big cages. Then, from the darkness, huge, six legged, black creatures with large scales across their body and walking on downwards pointed spikes walked up to the village and grabbed the cages before walking back into the forest under Goroth command. Crogagh, as those creatures were called, were known by the Naeiri as dangerous predators that normally stayed in the harsh tundras where no other creature not their size wouldn't dare wander.

That the Goroths were controlling the Crogagh meant something was really wrong. As the last of the Naeiri were rounded up, one could hear screams of fear from Naeiri throughout the forest as they were carried away those that were caught last could experience their Princess in chains pulled towards her own personal cage while she screamed in anger while trying to resist her captor's forceful movements. Naeiri were physically far inferior to Goroths and with fear and confusion about the lack of her magic powers in her eyes, the Princess yelped as she got smacked hard in her cage.

She didn't recover fast enough to the closing of her cage and hung kneeled against the bars of her cage as she watched the last of her people transported away from their now deserted homes, not knowing what their fate was. Then her mount also moved away from the village and into the darkness of the forest. From under a huge lily leaf drifting in the muddy ditch running from the village, two pair of small eyes saw the last mount with the Princess break through the borrows and into the darkness. "Mommie…." a small voice sounded from under the leaf.
