Physical Description:

Alan Miller matches the stereotype of a middle age man who has given up on keeping up appearances and who forgoes diet and exercise for beer and sitting in his recliner watching sports on tv. His former thick blond hair is now grey a thinning, receding from the front while forming a bald spot in the back. He is pudgy with a growing beer belly and his brown tired eyes show a man who has given up on any more excitement in life.

Bio:

Alan Miller is a workaholic dad who puts more focus on his business than his wife or kids. Alan is proud of his self started business, Alan's Marble and Granite, with now 7 locations around Delaware. The self titled "Countertop King of Delaware" Alan brags that he will help remodel your kitchen with "quality materials at a low price!" It actually was about 10 years into his career that he ended up in controversy when he got a client's daughter pregnant while working at the customer's house. That woman was his future wife, Camilla Miller. After a shotgun marriage and adding a final member to the family, their son Jacob, it wouldn't be long until Alan settled into a boring routine of work during the week and leisure during nights and weekends.

By the time he hit 40, his sex life with his wife pretty much died off, and if he answered honestly, he would tell you he isn't that bothered by it. His life has now centered around supervising and expanding his business, enjoying watching sports with a beer or two, and golfing with friends on the weekend.

When the free use laws started to spread around the country, Alan felt the need to protect his family and continue living a normal pre-free use life. When we approached him and offered him and his family a place in the Refugee Program, he was eager to accept. It also helped that the Greenville government offered to buy out his business in exchange for agreeing to establish a new store in the OZ.

Pearson Social Worker Notes:

Alan checks off a number of the criteria for the father of a family fit for our program. He is in a marriage where the romantic spark has burned out a long time ago. While not a bad man, his relative neglect of his wife and children sets things up perfectly for a new man to take over as the man of the house. His low libido likely leaves his wife sexually frustrated and needing release. We also believe that once the family successfully switches over and integrates with the OZ at large, he will be another great entrepreneur helping fuel the Greenville economy.
