Out of the Police Station and into a Harem

Chief Bridges was feeling hot. Her heart rate was high and her skin was sweaty. Ever since the dumb birthday song she has been feeling progressively warmer. She was holding it together until she spotted Luke in the crowd.

The Chief's mind raced. Was Luke always that sexy? Sure he was hot but too young for her. Besides he was engaged to someone.

"How are you feeling Ms. Bridges? You are looking red." Rebecca said walking up.

"What? Oh, it's you. I'm fine. We need to get out of here. My son is still missing." Chief Bridges said looking back at Luke.

"You ready to leave your surprise party?" Rebecca said looking around.

"Ya, 5 minutes is enough. They know I hate parties. They do this shit to get a break from work." Chief Bridges said putting down her half-eaten cake.

"Follow me to Ms. Kuno." the Chief said waving as she left the room.

"Luke come on," Rebecca said pulling him from a conversation with a hot secretary.

The group made it to the jail sector of the police station.

"Chief Bridges, what can I help you with." a young officer said standing at this desk.

"Please release Oasis Kuno. She has made her bail. And make it snappy." the Chief said looking over at Luke.

"Yes Ma'am, and Happy Birthday." the young officer said running deeper into the building.

A moment or two passed as they waited. Chief Bridges couldn't stop glancing over at Luke standing in the waiting area. But before Luke could notice the attention the Chief was giving, the door opened.

"So who sprang me from jail?" Oasis said walking into the room.

"That would be me," Rebecca said smiling.

"Aw, yes from my sister's work. Rebecca Queens." Oasis said remembering meeting the clothing store owner once.

"Well, we should get going," Rebecca said turning.

"Wait!" Chief Bridges said raising her hand.

"I am still missing one of my officers. I am heading out to find him." the Chief said walking up to Rebecca.

"Sure, would you like to follow us back?" Rebecca asked.

"Hold up! Where you headed?" Oasis said raising her hands in protest.

"We are going to go find Officer Bridges. Your **** charges will be contingent on his testimony." the Chief said gruffly.

"You want to go back to the Sunny Day Mall? Are you crazy? Did you read my testimony I was just running from that madhouse," Oasis said angrily.

"Fear not your friends insured that they can keep you safe. Would you prefer to wait in Jail while we investigate your claims?" Chief Bridges said gesturing back to the holding cells.

"Both options suck, I haven't eaten all day. And your jail food is worse than my mom's cooking," Oasis said crossing her arms.

"Well suck it up, my dear. Next time don't attack police officers trying to help you." Chief Bridges said turning to Rebecca.

"I want Luke to ride with me. While I follow you to the Mall." the Chief said turning red.

"What for?" Rebecca said assessing the Chief's sweaty face.

"I have a few questions about your story. And I want to hear it from someone who isn't a lawyer." Chief Bridges said huffily.

"Fine with me, Luke?" Rebecca said smiling.

"Sure, I've never been in a cop car," Luke said cheerfully.

"It's not that great," Oasis said frowning.

"Let's go!" Chief Bridges said in a rush.

"Come on Oasis, You will be riding with me. And never fear. You're safe from the 'Breeding Passes'," Rebecca said in a whisper.

"You can meet your sister in the mall parking lot. As the Chief and Luke find Officer Bridges." Rebecca said placing a hand on Oasis's shoulder.

The group made it outside with no more surprises.

"Here take my keys," Luke said tossing them to Rebecca.

"See you two in the South parking lot. Try to get a spot near Tai's mini-bus. That is an easy landmark." Luke said waving.

"Will do," Rebecca yelled watching Luke run back to the Chief.

The Chief grabbed her side. Her heart was going crazy. The hottest guy she had ever seen is about to be alone with her.

"Chief Bridges?" Luke asked walking up to the chief.

"It's nothing, just an old injury. I am just stressed about my son's safety. Let's hurry over to this 'Breeding Day' thing. ... And call me Charlotte." Chief Bridges said recovering from her odd panic attack.

"Sure thing Charlotte," Luke said cheerfully.
