Chapter 130

As soon as your head hit the pillow…
Out like a light
You woke up to the sound of your alarm blaring away at you forcing you to get up and search for your phone through half-open eyes. You eventually managed to find it still in the pocket of the pair of jeans that you had discarded on the floor yesterday and turned off the alarm as soon as you could see the screen. You groaned when you saw the time and realised you had never set it back to normal after making yourself get up early yesterday. Letting out a sigh, you hazily went through your alarms and set it back to the right time, giving you another half an hour to close your eyes again.
You pushed yourself back up towards your bed and saw that Sarah was still sleeping soundly next to where you had been before you moved. You would have been surprised to see that she was still asleep if not for the fact that you had completely forgotten that she had slept in your room last night as your brain was still waking itself up to remember that fact.
Sarah had seemed cautious when she first came back into your room but she quickly changed her mood once the two of you were comfy. You had been expecting to talk with her for a while before the two of you went to sleep but with her in your arms and the long day that you had had coming to an end, you started feeling drowsy sooner than you expected and had fallen asleep before you realised it.
Back in the present, you lifted the covers to get yourself back in bed again, catching a quick glimpse of Sarah who had her pajama top rolled up her stomach. She had probably caught it in the night but it left her midriff fully exposed and her chest only slightly out of sight. She made a few dissatisfied noises before rolling away from you as the colder air of the room hit her skin. Not wanting to keep yourself from the warm covers, you lowered the sheet back down and were about to snuggle back up against your sister when you realised you should probably check the KDK.
You reluctantly stretched your arm out from under the covers and grabbed your phone, opening up the app and seeing a new screen of text that you could only sigh at once you read it.

**** contact detected. Unlocking Automatic Sleep Mode. More information has now been unlocked on the information page.
Achievement Unlocked! - Restless Slumber - 2 points received.
View Achievements tab for more details.
Achievement: Restless Slumber
5XP, 6 points - Spent the night with a subject in the same bed
The achievement was nice to see and with no special, the extra XP and points meant that you were only 30 XP from hitting your own level up. What you were less excited to see was the new ‘Sleep Mode’. If the system still carried on as normal when you were asleep, then there wouldn’t be any need for a new mode to be unlocked. As the notification said, you quickly went to the information page that you hadn’t needed to open for a while and read through the newly added page.
Automatic Sleep Mode
Now that you have slept in the same bed as a subject and remained in contact with them while you/they were ****, you have met the conditions for this additional mode to be unlocked. No other conditions were created for this so this message may appear when you are at any level or with any number of subjects.
Now to get to the bit you're probably waiting for. Due to the nature of the KDK, having the User and/or the subject be **** during the process of accruing seconds to add to a subject’s total had some negative repercussions during my own testing. Not allowing the subjects time to adjust to their changes and even adding to the increased burden if a level-up was to occur during a rest, caused subjects to become agitated and restless and in some cases, made it seem like they had received no sleep at all
In order to prevent this, I have added a restriction to the system and through various testing, I have concluded that this was enough of a change to remove the side effects completely
So now for what you've been waiting for… again, here are the details.
- While a subject is ****/asleep, the rate at which seconds are accrued is halved, meaning that every 2 seconds spent in contact with a subject, only 1 is added to their total.
- In addition to this, if the User is also ****, the rate is halved again. So if both the subject and the user are ****, 4 seconds of contact adds 1 second to the subject's total(2 to 1 if only the user is ****)
_Note added due to previously unlocking the shop feature:_ The additional rate for the User separately, was added as a precaution but this can also be lowered/removed at a later date through the use of points in the shop.
I offer my apologies for the debuff to limit the progress of your journey but I hope you can understand when I say that this is for the best for both yourself and the subject(s) that you are taking care of.
The note ended on a low note but having a proper explanation given to you made you have a bit more closure. Your thoughts from last night about how the KDK would limit you due to your own expectations/ideals had turned out to be largely false but seeing it as a safety feature to protect the people you cared about made it a lot more bearable.
You had actually expected the worst-case scenario where you got nothing added to the total so hearing that you could still make some progress while you were asleep was an added benefit you were looking forward to using. A few scenarios for the future went through your head when you realised that the sleep mode would have already worked on Sarah while you both shared a bed.
As fast as your fingers could allow, you navigated the app and scrolled to select her profile.
Name: Sarah Cooper
Role: Subject, Twin Sister
Age: 18
Kink: Free use (level 3 - 11081/20000 seconds)
Distance: 0m
You remembered her profile being around the 5000-second mark so you had basically doubled your progress overnight. It did make sense when you realised your subjects had to be comfortable enough to sleep in the same bed as you. The figure actually seemed a little low at first but you chalked it up to you not constantly keeping hold of your sister while you slept. Around 6000 seconds was a little 1 ½ hours and with the restriction removed, that would have been around 6 hours of contact. When it was put like that, you were surprised once again at how you had actually managed to keep hold of her for that long throughout the night.
You took a look at Sarah beside you and she was still soundly asleep, having not woken up even for a second while your alarm had gone off. You had no idea how she normally got up in the morning but given the grouchy mood, you had seen her in before, letting her sleep sounded like the best option for the both of you right now.
On the odd occasions where Mom had **** you to wake her up, you had had to practically drag her out of bed and she would have been in a foul mood for the rest of the day. To avoid her wrath for now, you turned your attention back to your phone while you had the chance to take a look. You still kept one of your feet resting against hers just in case the extra seconds being added to her total helped you in the long run.
Nothing surprising was available as you went through each of your subjects, scanning their profiles and the galleries of pictures that you had amassed over the past few days, giving a quick glance to Sarah to make sure she didn’t catch you looking at pictures of your mother sat half-naked on your lap before you carried on scrolling.
You smiled as you went through each person until something caught your eye that you had seen previously.
What catches your eye?
