Out Of Your Hands

"W-We..." you look upon the Greatsword "We need to..." you hesitate in your words "We should probably go..."

Zoe doesn't really hear you as she hops around the fallen sword with her hands on her head, looking at the mess she just made. It isn't until she finally looks at your face of shock that she finally begins to question the situation "Uhh, Darien?" she places a hand on her hip and raises her eyebrow "What's wrong?"

"That's, uhh..." you swallow hard, looking at the magnificent sword "That's Rixx's sword."

Zoe's look goes from questioning to amazed as her eyes dart from your own to the sword on the ground "Oh!" she exclaims "Wow, that's..." she ponders "That's wow." her head tilts as she looks at it. "Maybe I can meet him! Oh fun fun! Yes!" she smiles "I remember watching you and him at Nillix! I can't wait, I can't wait!"

Maybe Zoe forgot that the three of you are on the run from Rathkin and that Commander Rixx is the leader of the entire army itself. "I for one hope he doesn't show up, what's to say he won't turn us in and throw us to Edmin." you say to the Sunrider.

"Well, maybe that happens but at least I get to finally meet him!" she smiles at you "That'll be amazing..."

"Will you stop fangirling yourself at him..." you say with an annoyed tone.

"Uh oh!!" she teases back "somebody is jealous!!!"

"I'm not jealo..."

"Jealous jealous jealous! There's another big strong warrior I want to meet! You're not the only one, you're not the only one!!" she sings. "Plus come on! Maybe he's not even in Rathkin and he's out with his army! We'd be safe here at that point." she smiles.

"Out with his army without his weapon?" you cast her a knowing glance.

"Umm.." she tries to think of a response "Well...Okay, you got me."

"Let's just pray to the Syndicate Gods he doesn't show up for at least an hour, to give Lexie some time to rest. Then, maybe we can move on again if needed."

"I suppose that sounds good..." Zoe squats down at the sword, trailing her finger along the blade "Although if he does show up that would be super super cool."

"Yeah but let's hope he doesn't sho...." the sound of the chamber door begins to open up causing both you and Zoe to look at the entrance.

The monster himself, dressed to the nines in his Golden Eagle armor and barely even able to fit inside the door due to his large stature. As he takes a stride in he pauses inside the door just briefly. His eyes behind his mask looking at you kneeling by the side of the bed and Lexie sleeping on it before he turns to the side and looks over at Zoe who is still squatting down by his sword, but now has a look of bliss on her face.

You rise to your feet slowly as you turn your body towards him, both your hands instinctively go to your weapons and unsheathe them, pulling them out to your sides as you get into a defensive position.

Commander Rixx takes another stride in before closing the door behind him, sealing the four of you in these very chambers.

"Listen Rixx..." you start off but are quickly interrupted by Zoe.

"Oh ma gawd!!! Rixx, Rixx, Rixx, Rixx, Rixx!!!" Zoe squeals playfully as she shoots up to her feet and dances in place "Ahhhh!!!" she moves with grace over to the towering behemoth "You... Are.... Humongous!!!" she gushes over him "Hi! Hi hi hi! I'm Zoe! Zoe from Rathkin! Well, Murnic! Well, Sicilian now I guess?" her hand goes up to brush back her hair as her face goes flush "I'm now, well, I mean, you are, I'm just, I can't..." she tries to catch her breath "You're amazing! Absolutely amazing! I'm so happy to finally get to see you this close! You're...wow!"

He just gives the Sunrider a nod and recites her name "Zoe."

"Oh ma gawd!" she playfully turns back to you and bears the biggest smile she's ever had "He said my name! You heard it! He said my name! Oh wow. Oh wow wow wow!" she spins back to Rixx "Okay! Fine!" she throws her hands up in the air "Take me to Edmin, we surrender, my life is complete!" she jests to the Commander.

You slowly begin to put your weapons away as you try to be civil "Look, Rixx...we just need to stay a little bit, please?" you ask.

The Commander walks past Zoe and moves forward to the bed. He stops at the foot of it and looks over the sleeping Sunrider. "Something wrong with..., Lexie if I recall correctly?" his deep voice has a touch of curiosity to it.

You turn back to Lexie and grab her hand in your own and let out a sigh "She's pregnant and was having issues..." you swallow before continuing "We came to Rathkin to get help from Queen Bree, but Edmin told us to get lost. As we were leaving we ran into Bree and she offered to help but now, Edmin knows we're still here in Rathkin and I don't know what he's planning on doing..." you don't even look at Rixx anymore "I just...she needs to rest for a bit and then we'll be on our way. I can't put her body through any more stress. If you're going to stand in our way, I will do whatever it takes, I won't just surrender, no way in hell." you eventually turn your gaze back to the Commander.

He doesn't say a word but his gaze lingers on Lexie before he turns his head to the right and notices his Greatsword. He walks over to it and kneels down, easily picking it up with one hand while he ever so gracefully moves it through the air to bring it around to his back, essentially locking it into him with his armor.

"Whaaattt?!?!" Zoe exclaims "That thing is like a million bajillion boulders heavy and you just...I don't even...oooh you're amazing!"

He moves back over to the bed, looking down over Lexie's body once more before his eyes trail back to your own. "Listen..." he starts but gets interrupted by a smashing on his door.

"RIXX!!!" a voice shouts from behind the door "Rixx, we need to talk! There's an emergency here in Rathkin!"

You recognize the voice of Edmin. He's here to inform his Commander of the issue at hand and have him use his entire army to hunt for you.

"Rixx! Your guards said you're in there, open the damn door, we need to talk now!" he orders.

Commander Rixx turns toward the door and begins step after step to the entrance. You didn't know what was going to happen, if he was going to turn the three of you in or if he would actually cover for you. Your fingers curl down to the grips of both your weapons, ready to jump up and go on the offensive if needed as the monster himself came to a halt at the door.

His right hand reaches down and pulls the door open just slightly before his body exits the room, instantly closing the door behind him, leaving the three of you now alone in the room.

It was now so quiet, extremely void of all noise as Zoe and yourself were frozen, just listening and waiting...
