Take a nap or not?
Or not.
The sheets were soft and simple. A resting place. But did Jen's journey not start on one of these?
"What if, if I sleep, I wake up somewhere else? Maybe on another planet. It might have happened ten times already, who cares if it gets erased from my memory every time, right?" — she jumped right up and hobbled deeper into the corridor aas fast as she could. — "I still have some energy left. I'll sleep no sooner than it's all gone."
Some distance later, she found herself passing through a large niche that had antique furniture standing around: a cupboard, a table, a chair and a clock. They were all made of lacquered red wood that smelled expensive. Piles of keys were lying both on the table, on the chair and in the compartments of the cupboard. The clock was just ticking quietly, but Jen took notice of its peculiar detail. The face of the clock was missing entirely!
"Put on enough gear from back there, and you forget what seconds and minutes are. Orgasms become the one measure instead."
