Option 4: Burn it

“I know you’re going to hate this Hellen, but we need to burn it. This thing isn’t safe. I don’t think I can deal with going through that again.” Mark explained to a disappointed Hellen.

“But do we really need to burn it? we can keep it and think about it for a bit longer.” She whined.

Mark shook his head. “I don’t trust this, its best to keep this out of our hands and get rid of it.”

Mark grabbed a matchbox and grabbed the outfit. He threw it into the fireplace and lit the match. “Its for the best.” He told her and himself.

“NOOOO!” she yelled at him as the flames engulfed the magical outfit.

Over the next few weeks Hellen had been cranky and annoyed but over time she started forgiving him for his choice. She couldn’t imagine what he went through and how scared he might have been.

They didn’t talk about the outfit anymore, it would only lead to a fight. However, both of them thought about what could have been had they kept it.

Mark and Hellen lived a luxurious and rich life in the countryside, experiencing many new things. Both lived for many years in the mansion until they became too old to live alone. They died well past the ripe age of 102. Now the mansion stands alone, empty without an owner. Magic dying away over the next decades. Until slowly the mansion collapsed.
