To locate or not to locate? (Alternative answers welcome)
Operation search!
Ivanna's head tilted slightly as she thought about the burner phone. 'Oo, I wonder if it contains evidence pertaining to my surprise birthday party.' She brought her hands up to her face and rapidly tapped her fingertips together a few times, starting from her pinky to her pointer finger. 'Franco caught me by surprise last year, but not this year. I will find that burner phone and catch him in the act!' A mischievous smile crept upon her lips. 'When I have the evidence in hand. I will wait for him and pounce on him when he gets home. I'll kiss him all over until he surrenders!'
Her smile turned into a full grin. 'I will win this year and gain glory!' Her hands lifted into the air as she laughed dramatically like a video game villain. That was when she got real quiet. 'What if he forgot.' Her eyes closed as she scrunched up her nose. 'That bastard!' There was a short pause. 'No, that wouldn't make any sense. He might have gotten a call into work though.' She started to glare at the kitchen cabinet in front of her. 'Work comes first.' She looked down at her feet. 'He works so hard for us. I should really do something special for him.'
She glanced at the refrigerator. 'Maybe I should make his favorite, booby gelatin.' This was a simple dessert that he happened to enjoy. He was such a perv, but that was one of the many reasons she loved him. She quickly walked to the pantry to get out the gelatin mix then pulled out two, six half sphere silicone molds to make the boobs. After it solidifies, she'll need to top it off with a little bit of whip cream and a cherry on top to complete it. 'Maybe I should put some whip cream on my tits too.' She glanced down at her chest. Her cheeks turned bright red. 'Maybe if he still has a sweet tooth tonight.'
After calming herself, she followed the simple instructions for making the gelatin before pouring it into the trays. She set them in the refrigerator and set a timer for four and a half hours to let them cool. Just in case it took a little longer than normal to solidify. 'He'll be so happy. Maybe he'll sweep me up off my feet before taking me to bed.' She giggled before looking up at her mini-map. 'Ah, right. Time to see what evidence I can find.' She took a snack from the pantry before walking to her bedroom.
She licked her lips, having finished her snack by the time she reached her bedroom. According to the two yellow arrows, one of the phones was in his dresser while the other one was in his nightstand. 'He didn't hide them very well.' She thought while walking over to his nightstand. His phone was normally in there. So it was safe to assume that this was his primary phone. When she opened the drawer, she saw a few small items beside his phone. This is when her quest crossed off that she found Franco's phone. A 20 minute timer started to countdown.
She picked up his phone and pressed the power button. Within a second of its screen lighting up, she could see a few unread text messages were left by Ricky, one of his coworkers. 'I guess he left in a hurry this morning.' She pressed on the phone's screen to gain access. However, it was locked. She puffed up her cheeks a little. 'Boo... What am I going to do now? If I mess up too many times, I'll get locked out.' She knew this because a few of her friends in the past got locked out of their partners' phones. Speaking of which, didn't one of them tell her how to trick a phone into giving them access? As this crossed her mind, a red exclamation flashed that she allowed to pop up.

Her eyes widened. 'Oo, this sounds promising.' However, she didn't know how much mana she actually had. This prompted her to look more closely at her health and mana bar. She noticed numbers displayed on each bar. Apparently, she had 68 health and 79 mana. 'All right. So, I can cast this fourteen times, but I believe the device will lock me out at five failed attempts.' She would just have to give it a try. 'How do I cast, "Lockpick's Die" anyway?' As the thought went through her mind, a twenty-sided die appeared below her portrait and started to spin. - 5 Mp 'That answers that.' It soon stopped on the number 16, causing the device to unlock.
She giggled and smiled widely. 'Ha! I win. Now, tell me your secrets...' She started to look through the most recent messages from Ricky. The following is what she read.
Ricky: "Pick me up a bagel on ur way. I forgot to pick something up earlier." 6:10 a.m.
Ricky: "Hey, don't forget the bagel. I'm seriously hungry!" 6:15 a.m.
Ricky: "Btw. Ur last client is looking 4 u. Something about changing his mind on a few details." 6:20 a.m.
Ricky: "Did u 4get ur phone again? Damn it. I guess I won't be getting that bagel..." 6:25 a.m.
She blinked. 'This isn't evidence at all.' That was when her eyes looked up a few more lines.
Ricky: "I finished the paperwork u wanted." 6:00 a.m.
Franco: "Great! You didn't tell anyone else, right?" 6:02 a.m.
Ricky: "Of course not. U made me promise not to tell any1 at the office. I wouldn't even tell my wife about this." 6:03 a.m.
Franco: "Good. I'll see you soon." 6:05 a.m.
Ricky: "Alright. C u soon." 6:05 a.m.
Her quest scratched off finding out where Franco was. She started to chew on her bottom lip. 'That sounds a little shady.' She shook her head. 'I'll need to ask him about that later.' She glanced back up at her mini-map to the single yellow arrow remaining. She turned to look at his dresser. It had only been a few of minutes, but the clock was ticking. 'No, no. It can't be bad. I didn't marry a bad man.' She set the phone back down, closing the nightstand's drawer. "Still, I wonder what he's hiding."
She got up, walking over to the dresser. She checked his sock, underwear, pants, and shirt drawer, but there was nothing. She glanced up at her mini-map's yellow arrow. It was clearly indicating the dresser. The time remaining was 12 minutes. She tilted her head slightly. 'Maybe there is a secret compartment.' She started to search for hidden buttons and switches on, within, and around the dresser, but there was nothing. There were only 4 minutes remaining. That was when her eyes glanced downward, noticing an inch gap along the majority of the front of the dressers' base. 'Don't tell me...' She knelt down, soon sliding her right hand underneath the edge of the dresser.
She felt around carefully. Around 3 minutes in, when she was about to give up, her pointer finger pressed into the base near the right corner of the dresser. She heard a very soft click, followed by a small 5" x 7" drawer popping out in between the underwear and pants drawer. 'Bingo!' She felt quite anxious. The answers she was looking for were within. She stood up, looking in the exposed drawer. There was a small stylus and a phone. She picked them up. When she did, her quest turned itself in. This was followed by a new yellow exclamation flashing which she allowed to pop up.

Accept or Decline?
Her eyes widened upon reading all of that. 'Secrets? Stats? Why do I have stats?' That was when she remembered this was all a dream. 'Ah, I almost forgot. It just seems so real.' She gently clicked, 'Accept' with the stylus. 'I might as well see where this takes me.' She walked over to the bed, hitting the power button on the phone, but nothing happened. She blinked. 'Is it dead? Hmm, maybe he turned it off.' She pressed and held in the power button. Shortly after, the phone began to power up. 'I wonder if I'll need to use Lockpick's Die on this phone too.'
Once the phone was ready, she checked to see if it was locked. Luckily, it wasn't, allowing her to go straight to the messages. There was only one person listed, Dr. Michael R. Oblong. She tried to think of where she had seen that name before. She did a quick search online. What she read was quite the surprise. 'He's an Andrologist? Wait, what's that?' She quickly did a search on that. The results were unexpected. 'An Andrologist is a doctor that focuses on the male's genitals.' When she saw the results her eyes widened. 'Oh no. Is something wrong with his dick and balls?'
That was when her mind turned to darker things. 'Wha? Did, did he actually cheat on me!?' She opened the messages and started to read what was available. As she did, the first line of her quest scratched itself off. There wasn't much, but this is what she read.
Dr. Michael R. Oblong: I'm sorry, Mr. Costa. There is simply nothing more I can do for you.
Franco: Is there really nothing you can do? I will be a laughing stock if this ever gets out.
Dr. Michael R. Oblong: There is nothing I can do. All of the options to reverse infertility have proven ineffective or problematic for you.
Dr. Michael R. Oblong: If you truly want kids. I recommend adoption.
She sat down on the edge of the bed. 'My husband is infertile?' She couldn't believe it. The one thing Franco wanted most, a son, was an impossibility. She knew her husband well. There was no way he would go for adoption. Her heart sank as tears poured down her cheeks. This pain was far deeper than she expected. It wasn't like she wanted children, but to have her husband's dream shattered like this. It would be devastating. She backed out of the messages while wondering if she should continue to delve into this.
She wiped away her tears before glancing at her quest. It showed that she had discovered 1 out of 3 secrets. That was when she noticed another texting program. One that didn't require a phone number, just a screen name. When she clicked on it, she found a single message.
Cheeky_monkey: "Your Swiss account is available."
She blinked. 'Swiss account? Why would he need one of those?' That was when she noticed the number switched from 1 to 2. She went back to the home screen. 'I don't understand. Why is he hiding this all from me?' She decided to check the remaining programs, but found nothing of note. There was only one thing remaining, the internet browser. Within its history she found an email website. Oddly enough, it didn't have the password saved. She cast Lockpick's Die triggering a twenty-sided die to spin. - 5 Mp The die landed on 7, trigging the first failure.
She puffed her cheeks before casting Lockpick's Die again. - 5 Mp This one landed on 6, triggering another failure. She started to worry. 'Most emails lock after three failed attempts. Well, here goes nothing.' She cast Lockpick's Die. - 5 Mp This time the die landed on 20, allowing her to enter. When this happened, two new red exclamations flashed which she allowed to pop up.
Lockpick's Die has increased from level 1 to 2 - Durability reduction on a nat 1 failure has decreased from 20% to 15%.

Roll 20: Causes 1 ricochet, applying 200% of the original and refunds the mana cost.
She read all of that with a smile. 'That ability looks promising.' That smile turned into a smirk, but she soon shook her head. 'Don't lose focus. You have some more investigating to do.' She looked back at the screen. She saw a few emails, but nothing really stood out. However, just to be sure, she checked each one. Alas, they were simply ads. She decided to check the trash folder and found one email with the heading, Proof of ownership. She clicked on it. The image of a rather beautiful one story building with a large pool in the backyard appeared with a file attached underneath. The email was thanking her husband for purchasing this Australian property.
She clicked the pdf below. It showed a sample of the deed to the previously mentioned property. At the bottom it said that the actual deed was sent to a P.O. box she had no previous knowledge of. That was when the 2 changed to a 3, causing that section to scratch itself off as complete. This couldn't be real. She logged out before turning off the phone. She simply couldn't believe it. This looked like her husband was planning to run away with that whore from her workplace!
She stomped her right foot and growled, throwing that phone at the bed. Oddly enough, it had enough **** to bounce off of the bed and straight toward the wall opposite of her. Luckily, neither it nor the wall was damaged. She let out a breath as she went to retrieve the phone before putting it back in its hiding spot, closing the drawer shortly after. When she did, her quest turned itself in.
Quest Complete: Franco's secrets
Reward: 1 xp, 1 Wisdom, and 1 Charisma
Optional Bonus: 6 xp and Rubber Band Gun
Experience has increased from 70/1,000 to 77/1,000.
Wisdom has increased from 15 to 16.
Charisma has increased from 20 to 21.
Rubber Band Gun. Common Quality. 0 damage + .5 of Luck Modifier. This wooden gun can hold up to six rubber bands, allowing for rapid fire! This weapon has a range of 8 yd. Material: Plastic and wood. 15/15 Durability.
Special note: Damage outside of its range is reduced to nothing.
Her eyes widened. 'Huh? A rubber band gun...' She glanced around the room. 'Okay, I like rubber band guns. They are fun to play with, but this seems rather silly.' She looked around, but didn't see the rubber band gun anywhere. 'Hmm, everything has been acting like a video game so far. I wonder if I have an inventory too.' She scratched the top of her head. 'How do I open my inventory?' When this thought came into her mind, a screen appeared in front of her with twenty squares. The first square had the picture of a rubber band gun. To the lower right of the screen was the number 1 over 20, an amount of money, a small trash bin, and a reorganization button.
She was surprised the amount of money, $789.03, was the exact amount she had in her bank account. She used her hand to select the money. When she did, a small screen appeared over it. It asked how much she would like to remove. She decided to remove $.01. When she did, a penny appeared in her hand. She stared at the coin for a few seconds. She quickly went to get her phone, which had been on her nightstand, to check her bank account and sure enough. It had dropped by one penny. She walked back over to that penny, picking it up before placing it in her inventory.
She refreshed her bank app. As expected, it had gone up by one penny. 'This is weird.' She sat down on her bed while thinking about this. 'This can't be real, right?' She set her phone down. 'Have I gone insane?' She looked back up at her inventory screen. 'Hmm, if I can take out that rubber band gun. I could consider that proof, right?' She thought while reaching for the rubber band gun in her inventory. To her surprise, she hand sank into the inventory image. She immediately felt something firm like wood against her fingertips.
She wrapped her fingers around it and pulled it out slowly. Sure enough, she pulled out a rubber band gun.
She looked at it for a few seconds before her eyes widened. 'Aaahh!' She freaked, dropping the gun. It hit the floor with a wooden clank. She jumped back onto her bed. She sat down and pulled up her knees to her chest. She didn't hear anything else. She slowly looked over the corner of her bed. The rubber band gun was not moving. She waited a few more seconds before reaching for it. It didn't move. It appeared to be an ordinary rubber band gun. She looked around the room. 'Hmm...'
She decided to put it away for now, but began to wonder what she should do next. Should she go over to Franco's office and demand answers? Or should she shoot first and ask questions later?
Demand answers? Or shoot first? (Alternative answers welcome)
