The rest of the day, and most of the next one passed, and Issei came back, carrying an empty box. "Passed them all out!" he stated, and set the box down.

"...how do we know you didn't just toss them out and say you passed them out?" Koneko asked from behind her book. "Because that was far faster than I expected of someone like you..."

"Hey, quit insulting me every chance you get!" Issei pouted as Rias gave Koneko a warning look.

"The papers are enchanted anyway, a light spell to trace them, and make sure a whole bunch aren't in the same location, which would be the case had he just tossed a bunch," she told Koneko. "Issei would not have been the first to try that if he had. Several Reincarnated Devils thought they could pull one over on the system in that way."

"Ah, makes sense," Issei remarked, nodding. "The thought didn't even cross my mind though..."

"...of course not. You're too dumb to be a schemer like that," Koneko snorted. "What was I thinking?"

"...I know she's a girl, but if she keeps that up, I might just beat her up," Issei said flatly, and Koneko actually laughed as if he said something hilarious.

"You could try, but I should warn you, she's a Rook, which comes with a boost in physical stats," Akeno informed him, also amused. "You'd end up being folded like your Sunday laundry."

"In short, please try," Koneko smirked, getting off the couch, and picking it up with one hand, making Issei balk. "I dare you..."

"...I'm good!" he squeaked, rethinking his intentions on a dime.

Rias face palmed as Issei backed hastily away from Koneko. "I think we're all getting sidetracked," she remarked as Koneko put the couch back down and sat on it again. "I think it's time we moved onto the next step for you, Issei."

"Great, what's the next step?" he asked.
